Indirect evidence have the same weight as direct evidence in a court setting. But yes, if it turns out there is no evidence, then the case should be dismissed.

Arrest warrant is not a sentence. If he's brought to the court, he will have a chance to prove the lack of evidence. But even by proxy, leaders are responsible for the actions of their subordinates. Same way we attribute authorization given by leaders sitting in their "war rooms" to launch drone attacks or giving "go" to tactical teams to them and not individual actors.

If you don't want people to make a violent bid for freedom, don't spend decades torturing and murdering them in an open air concentration camp with no recourse. Simple.

I'm with you here. The violence is of Israel's own making, but no matter how "just" one believes their actions are, they are still against international humanitarian law. I apply the same standard to everyone, be it Hamas, Israel, Poland, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, China, United States, etc.

If you are willing to spill civilian blood, you also should be willing to take responsibility for those actions.

They are money holders, and it was a well financed and coordinated attack. And they are in direct control even now as they try to negotiate ceasefire and hostage release.

There are no two sides here. It's the same side of two different coins. Netanyahu is a war criminal for genocide, and Hamas leaders are responsible for civilian deaths from their terror attack.

That's partially correct. The first 2 referendums were lost by a few %, and the last was boycotted since it was held during the pandemic and when Kanaks asked to delay it since it would disproportionately affect them, France refused. France will do anything not to lose the territory, since it's strategically important to them.

The whole point of the new voting law they are protesting is that any subsequent vote would be stacked in France's favor, since local population is already diluted to around 50%.

There's a reason there wasn't one in the first place.

The reason is that Israel blockades the whole Gaza Strip.

These Israeli soldiers must have been terrorists. I guess it's true what people say about IDF. They shoot anything that moves.

[-] BrikoX@lemmy.zip 14 points 5 days ago

UN is unable to independently verify, since IDF keeps killing their staff. So they had to change how they verify deaths, which reclassified the people killed, not the total number of people killed. It's a moot point anyway, since Palestinian figures are known to be highly credible. They have plenty of reasons to be diligent about it, and zero reasons to invent stuff.

Historically, the UN and other agencies have found that overall figures produced by the Gaza ministry of health have been largely reliable. Among those agencies is the World Health Organization, which says the ministry has “good capacity in data collection” and its previous reporting has been credible and “well developed”.
