I say it because we've seen how utterly outclassed the UAE and GCC as a whole are compared to Iran. I really can't imagine them attempting to carry the brunt of the war effort when the US and Israel was unable to do it. The Emirates are greedy opportunistic bastards but I'm not sure I'd call them that delusional.
I think they could convince themselves that they could concentrate all their resources on just one island and achieve some sort of victory. I also think the islands will be fortified and it will be a bloodbath if they try
