An anonymous worker at the kitchen, which serves approximately 1,200 soldiers, told Israel's N12 News that the animals routinely breach the old, deteriorating building through holes in the walls, air conditioning ducts, and rotten plumbing systems.

The source detailed discovering a rat inside a large cooking pot during lunch preparation and finding food container lids systematically gnawed through by the pests.
