Got this UPS on eBay as a "working unit" long story short it was a scam.

Now the UPS passes power to the normal AC power strip it has. However the battery + AC power outlets don't pass voltage.

I also tested the LCD desplay and its getting a VERY low voltage

Now I am thinking this has something to do with it having no batteries, but that shouldn't be the case, how would it charge if they were to run out of power? Has anybody here had this issue with there UPS?

Super confused about the situation here. You bought a UPS without batteries? I would assume the side marked for batteries+surge would not operate properly if no batteries were present if this model isn't hot-swappable.

Edit: the product page says this unit should be hot-swappable, BUT, it may require the batteriesnto be present first in order to engage the PDU to turn on power to each individual outlet, so mayyyybe getting batteries would make it work, but who knows.

My other ups which is an APC will work and pass power even with out a battery. And it's not hot swappable. It will just beep.

This UPS doesn't even do anything, it doesn't even beep. The cables going to the battery don't seem to be pushing any voltage according to my multimeter when I complete the circuit. And it doesn't help the tripplite isn't consumer friendly when it comes to self service.
