They also said Max got his brake stuck from the beginning of the race... but I have a hard time buying that, how could the brake be stuck and NOT even smoking for 3 laps?

Ah... Key word I missed... Makes more sense
but how didn't they see the overheating in the telemetry? I watched Max' onboard from start to retirement and there was nothing on the team radio until Max mentioned the smoke. Heck, there was even a significant time when everyone could see the smoke on tv, yet nobody got the idea of telling Max?
all good questions. race starts are chaotic, maybe their attention was elsewhere. whatever it is, probably something they need to correct.
