Piracy is good and you should do more of it. Use https://aniwave.to/ and https://4anime.gg/ for streaming, and https://nyaa.si/ for torrents. Piracy is the only means of digital protest that audiences have to fight poor worker treatment.
Pretty goddam fucked up.
I don't think I've seen any piece of media recently that nails the feeling of living in the Pre-Apocalypse quite like this show. And that's especially unnerving considering how closely some events in the story mirror what is currently going on irl.
damn this really sells it for me!
kinda unrelated but whats your take on punpun?
I've actively avoided reading punpun despite it's reputation because I feel it might be too personally triggering for me, so I can't give a take on it unfortunately. (But that's also why I've been really curious about Inio Asano's work for a while now)
Thats understandable. I can't really summarize it briefly but it really lays bare how brutal shit can get in an "advanced" capitalist society. It is an "existentialist" capitalist realist work so expect mind-bending depression if you ever read it. Japanese manga authors, being Japanese, have that weird combination of western liberal and social conformist thought to varying degrees and it shows in their storytelling and worldview. This one is no exception.
