Judges are some of the most overtly dystopian aspects of our system. They don't even have to pretend to be fair. Petty lords of the fucking court, you have to grovel and beg for them not to order their fucking goons to brutalize you.

I was going to say that the Judges in Judge Dredd are so much closer to reality than we think, but actually not even the fictional, exaggerated judges are this petty or image-obsesses.
