Social democrats of the Second International were also social chauvinists. They negated internationalism and supported their own countries imperialist wars.

Mamdani here is following that same chauvinistic tendency and is blind to his own country’s imperialism.

Yet another socdem who chooses to associate himself with the Democrats turns out to be a pro-imperialist chauvinist. Not at all surprising.

What pisses me off is that he could’ve done what he did when pressed about Israel, which is divert the conversation back towards issues at home without explicitly taking stance on the issue. Instead he uplifts imperialist propaganda.

I'd be more disappointed if I hadn't seen the good ol SocDem rugpull over and over again already.

BREAKING NEWS: LIBERAL HATES PROLETARIAN DEMOCRACY, LOVES CAPITALIST DICTATORSHIP - MORE AT ELEVEN

Democratic (against) Socialists.

I'm guessing this is the "space created for leftists" I keep hearing about.

[-] demerit@lemmygrad.ml 15 points 4 days ago

space created for leftists...among the ranks of the bourgeoisie.

thats the full story, because that has always been the goal - in the end western leftist dont want to abolish capitalism or imperialism, they want feel good moments and better "products in the marketplace of ideas". Consumers not communists.

Socialism is at its highest when Che is on a t-shirt

[-] pyromaiden@lemmygrad.ml 8 points 4 days ago

Socialist is when you buy my t-shirt with Che Guevara on it and the more you buy the more socialism it is and if you buy my entire stock and bankrupt yourself in the process that's communism.

[-] BarrelsBallot@lemmygrad.ml 19 points 4 days ago

He's trying to prove he's a real socialist by doing leftist infighting

US news... from six weeks ago

mamdani should've just shut the fuck up, but why post this everywhere now? why the emphasis? we know he sucks we knew it before september

[-] demerit@lemmygrad.ml 14 points 4 days ago

We know he sucks we knew it before september

No people did not know this. They were "libbing" out over his electoral "yes we can" videos. The revisionists are already starting their work...

[-] robot_dog_with_gun@hexbear.net 12 points 4 days ago

he was crumbling on the zionist entity before the primary

[-] prof_tincoa@lemmygrad.ml 7 points 4 days ago

No people did not know this.

I did. I assumed it was common knowledge. For reference, I'm not American, nor have I ever been to NYC.

Not that I'm against repeating it for people who missed it the first time.

[-] cfgaussian@lemmygrad.ml 14 points 4 days ago

Never assume that something which is "common knowledge" for you is common knowledge for everyone else. Sometimes we have to keep repeating agitprop over and over until it sinks in, or until it reaches everyone who can be reached.

[-] RedWizard@hexbear.net 3 points 4 days ago

Which people? People in NYC or us, the Tankie Triad? Because in this corner of the triad we've had nearly weekly struggle threads over every last thing Mamdani uttered since the primary. Lol we had a massive thread about this the day this podcast went live six weeks ago.
