Quoting Wikipedia:
Body Troopers (Norwegian: Jakten på nyresteinen), also known as Chasing the Kidneystone, is a 1996 Norwegian children's film directed by Vibeke Idsøe, starring Torbjörn T. Jensen and Kjersti Holmen. Eight-year-old Simon shrinks himself to microscopic size in order to travel through his ailing grandfather's body in search of a kidney stone. On his journey he meets anthropomorphic characters such as the taste buds, white and red blood cells, and the vocal cords.
The film is based on the book Jakten på nyresteinen, also written by Idsøe.
It was the highest-grossing Norwegian film of the year.^[Not that there was much competition: the longest list I can find of Norwegian films of 1996 is only 13 entries long! And when you factor in foreign films (i.e. Hollywood and Disney), Body Troopers was only the ninth-most seen movie in Norwegian cinemas in 1996. Which I guess is still fairly impressive.]
The film also won several awards at various film festivals.
Accessibility
We'll be watching the English dub without subtitles. I would've added subtitles, but the only set I could find were terribly broken, and I wasn't up to fixing them.
There's also no signed interpretation nor descriptive narration, but there isn't on most anything we watch on Blorptube, so... Might be nice to change that at some point, but it isn't necessarily feasible for the time being.
Content warnings
But in any case, yeah, this movie is Kinda Creepy. It's got ooey gooey practical effects, weird CGI, all in all it's got Body Shit. If you don't like looking at human innards you won't like this movie.
It's also got a child in peril and at least one mention of death of a loved one. I haven't watched this movie in like two decades so if there's anything else CW-worthy I don't remember it. The official age rating is 7 years and up, Medietilsynet warns about "dark imagery, frightening soundscapes, and threatening figures".
