Land stolen from the Native Americans in almost all cases. (That's different from the other items in this list, which were produced or invented or traded.)
I would argue that apple pie was "stolen" since they have a whole phrase "as american as apple pie" when it isn't even american. It wasn't traded. It likely came with the brits et al, that colonised america. And since has become a staple of american culture.
Apples themselves originated in Kazakhstan 👍
Lemons, northwestern India.
The American flag in the background should also be marked as, "Made in China" 😁
Hey now! Germans created sausages with love and a sense of pride. Hotdogs require hate and poverty to be made correctly.
And we don't call the sausage hot dog, only the finished product.
Plus as a German Id go with the Danish version using a pølser.
Pretty sure hot dogs can't even legally be called proper sausages in Germany or the rest of the EU. Too much filler and preservatives.
My Hotdog is usually with a Schüblig.
I think you can call them as you like, but American meat usually is not considered food for humans in the EU. The problem typically is the amount of hormones.
And antibiotics.
There is a german joke/saying; Why does the butcher not eat sausage? –Because he knows what's inside!
Imagine Egypt-gating lemonade. Artist dropped the ball there
You have to at least be growing your own weed, right? It's so easy.
Even if you're not, who's buying weed imported all the way from Asia? The farthest my weed comes from is BC, and that but rarely.
I think the image is only looking at where the plant originated. Weed came from the Himilayas, in Asia. If it was strictly where the stuff you're consuming were grown, then the apples in the apple pie, lemons in the lemonade, cabbage from the coleslaw, corn on the cob, and the hot dogs would all probably be considered American since that's most likely where they were grown/made.
Yeah I meant as in it's produced locally-ish not necessarily by you yourself.
It's called "weed" for a reason. 🤷🏼♂️
To be fair, they don't want the culture. They never said anything about the food.
food is massive part of culture. like arguably the biggest part.
US don't has any own culture, everything is from others, even the people.
I always thought apple pie was a Dutch invention.
No you're thinking of what they were cooked in, the Dutch Oven
Only flaw is that they're drinking Modelo and not Busch, the brand that makes beer in camo cans. 10/10 no notes.
busch still works here, too. anheuser-busch was acquired by belgium-based inbev in 2008.
