Yep, GrayJay is it. They do have to use embedded chromium and did so within a C# application, which I cannot understand, but it does work well. They have a flatpak which works on all my desktops.
GrayJay is a youtube, twitch, peertube etc frontend that has subscription syncing across platforms! Although it's buggy on MacOS, and I don't trust it's privacy as much as freetube/newpipe, it's a good compromise for some convenience.
