Pink Fang Tomatoes! (lemmy.world)

The one that didn't grow is on me, I had two seeds in one tray because I'm sometimes unobservant!

They're really stretched! Make sure they get a lot of bright light. The ones that have flopped over might need some support. You can bury their long stems in some more dirt

Good work getting them to sprout! Home grown tomatoes are amazing

THEY GREW SO FAST! It's only been a few days. I'm worried I'll have to plant them in deeper pots, that's as much dirt as I can give them in those. Also everyone was talking about how some of their seeds didn't sprout, so I wasn't expecting them all to grow so vigorously lol!

I'd stick a bright light directly above them, to keep them from getting too leggy.

Right now their little stems are delicate. Let them strengthen up a bit, and when you transplant them, you'll have more stem to bury, and send out roots.

Firstly I'd like to apologize for being critical first, I just saw you so excited and didn't want you to get let down.

You can make collars out of paper (or whatever you have handy) and then center the seedling in it and fill with dirt. You'll want to try to take up almost all of the stalk, so they may need to be different heights for each seedling

And any extra light will be beneficial, even just a desk lamp set as close as you can overhead without burning them, usually 3-4 inches is good

And they do grow fast, and especially long and spindly when they're reaching for light

Good luck!

Oh, we have lots of computer paper! I can make them then. Also that room has two windows on two different walls and the overhead light. I could put the overhead light on all day if that would help them! Normally they'd be in a room with even more light, but that room has little in the way of warmth right now (almost outside temps) so it felt unsafe!
