They've amassed missiles armed with warheads. Let that sink in and realize what they really are, because it's not a force for immigration enforcement, it's an army simping for Trump. They will be weaponized at a much greater scale in the future certainly.

More accurately, its preparation for martial law in November. Any US citizen who thinks there will be free and fair elections is not paying attention. The regime are not leaving power willingly.

Time is running out for nation wide general strikes ..

[-] fizzle@quokk.au 4 points 3 months ago

You don't need missiles for martial law though.

No shit, ya don't give em the largest budget of any enforcement agency and expect them not to spend it, right?

“Trump is building up a well-funded, poorly trained paramilitary force that could easily take on a life of its own,” Brooks explained. “Once you have a massive moneymaking machine ginned up, it’s hard to reverse course and turn off the spigot.”

Doge them, immediately. Take the guns first, go through due process second. Let that sink in, Thank You for your attention to this MATTER.

[-] Carmakazi@piefed.social 27 points 3 months ago

I thought the whole "missiles and warheads" thing was a debunked claim from a misunderstanding of less-lethal launchers and their ammunition. Rubber balls and teargas sorts of stuff.

What they're buying seems to be the same shit that any podunk small-town PD has been buying for the last 15 years with their budget surplus. Which is a problem in and of itself, but it's not an escalation beyond what is unfortunately the norm.

If they're picking up heavy machine guns or Hellfire missiles, let us know.

[-] Chronographs@lemmy.zip 10 points 3 months ago

Yeah there’s no reference to that in the article.

[-] AmidFuror@fedia.io 3 points 3 months ago

That's the trouble with raw stories. They're often inaccurate. Yet if they say what will get people riled up, they'll get engagement and praise here.

[-] Professorozone@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

Actually it's looks like the summary below the source is what's inaccurate. Neither the title nor the story talk about warheads.

[-] hateisreality@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Raw news is the hyperbolic left leaning version of News Max... designed to get you upset but accomplishes nothing.

[-] paper_moon@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Maybe I'm not reading your tone correctly, I get you're maybe trying to correct some misinformation about "missiles topped with warheads", but this seems to be really, REALLY downplaying the threat here, especially with the last line of "if they're buying this other shit, let us know" like what they currently have access to isn't bad enough for the threat to US civilians?

I'm just wondering why you took this take. Again, unless i misread your tone here. It just seems extremely dismissive of basically a shadow army loyal to Trump.

[-] Modern_medicine_isnt@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

So more than one thing can be evil at a time. Posting with a title that is clearly not even implied by the linked article is the kind of evil misinformation that got us in this mess. That is as close to a "tone" in what he wrote. It's nowhere near extremly dismissive of anything. Doesn't even mention anything about a threat.

[-] paper_moon@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

🤷‍♂️ I guess you're right, but the take away I got from their last sentence was ICE buying more weapons isn't something they are concerned about or want to hear about, unless its machine guns and hellfire missiles. That's the dismissive part to me. They're saying it's not news worthy unless it's an escalation from the weapons regular police departments already have.

I was the one saying this [ice buying more weapons] is a threat. To U.S. civilians.

[-] mojofrododojo@lemmy.world 11 points 3 months ago

what in the fuck would an immigration agency need with missiles of any kind?

what in the actual fuck

[-] LMurch@thelemmy.club 10 points 3 months ago

Re-electing Trump is the worst financial decision this country has ever made.

[-] I_Jedi@lemmy.today 4 points 3 months ago

Trump knows he's screwed if he loses the presidency. He knows he must hold onto it by any means.

[-] JustEnoughDucks@feddit.nl 1 points 3 months ago

Where in the article does it say anything about missiles and warheads?

[-] scroll_responsibly@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 3 months ago

They’ve amassed missiles armed with warheads.

Did you post the wrong article because I saw nothing to that effect in this one.

[-] just_another_person@lemmy.world -1 points 3 months ago

It was reported months ago, but as someone else pointed out, they've apparently address that as something else.

[-] Taldan@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

Perhaps you should edit your post to reflect that. Most people don't look at the comments. Without a correction, you'll be misinforming a lot of people

[-] CascadiaRo@lemmy.zip 1 points 3 months ago

They’ve amassed missiles armed with warheads.

The article you linked makes no mention of this. What is the basis for this claim?

[-] D_C@sh.itjust.works 0 points 3 months ago

From the outside looking in it looks like things have gone too far for the american population to do anything now. You are fucked, by the looks of it.

If there were protests and general strikes done at the start of all this, well, terrorism then it wouldn't have got to this point.
"But how were we to know?" Well, apart from all the history of dictatorships, all the many signs it was going to be a dictatorship, the fat child raping cunt himself saying he was going to be a dictator from day one, and thousands and thousands of people saying it then, ha, 'nothing'.

There'll try to rewrite it all that the orange kiddie fiddler was innocent but, fortunately, the rest of the world will know the truth. Basically, to his are fucked but history will not be kind to the Donvict Drumpf and some of his enablers.

We have a massive election in. November, and that could potentially change everything. It makes no sense to blow up the country with senseless violence, NOW, when there is still a legal option that could be truly effective and change the course of the nation. But right now, violence would be useless, and counterproductive.

MAGA definitely WILL fuck with this election, and if they refuse to accept the bloodbath that is almost certainly coming, and prevent those new Reps and Senators from taking their seats, THEN, when our LEGAL election choices have been rejected, violence would have a purpose, and would make sense.

Right now, the mission is to stay under control, motivate voters, accumulate voting power, and RESIST EVERYTHING.

[-] D_C@sh.itjust.works 0 points 3 months ago

I hope you are correct.

However that's only if the midterms happen, and there's been talk of cancelling them.
Plus it does look like the paedo and his cronies are trying to terrorise people to not go to the voting booths.
Time will tell, but again I hope you are right.

[-] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today -1 points 3 months ago

Elections are managed by the states whether MAGA likes it or not. To rig a presidential election, you only have to rig one race in seven swing states, but there are 50 states, and hundreds of Congressional Districts, so it is extraordinarily difficult to rig a Congressional or Senate election.
