Bullshit. It's not age verification. It's identification of you.
you just did your part to normalize it.
Don't be so desperate to watch a video to pay with personal information to this degree.
I am sure there's exceptions, but refusal should be the norm. At least on YouTube and other non-essential services.
Yeah, I just say I can't watch this video when someone sends me a link. It does make you less social though. People just think you're weird, people with "I have nothing to hide" mentality is so common. And people that say "I don't care about politics", or "we don't discuss politics here" in friend groups, and start excluding you because you speak on these things.
Nope not yet, we can still fight it. We can help others figtht it like the Linux and other people in libre/free and opensource communities are. And the best way to fight it is to boycott using any platform or product that requires it and use good alternatives that resist it.
They want it to be but what you’re seeing is just a tame version that’s been around for a while on porn sites and mature rated games. What scares people what bothers me is required identification. Having to share real personal data to “confirm” who you are.
We should all be fighting this ..
Age verification as in check a box that days you're over 18? Or like upload a photo or ID?
