It's bizarre. Same as the reports of his son praising Kate for going abroad on her own. What a weird fucking country.

Didn't she have cancer? Travel isn't really that easy for cancer patients, even after it has generally been treated.

[-] tenebrisnox@feddit.uk 2 points 1 day ago

And yet millions of people travel with cancer across the world. And probably travel without the assistance of a dozen aides, security and who knows what else. Just like the King smelling bread, a woman with cancer travelling to another country really isn't news.

Oh yeah, I agree it isn't news. But there's nothing wrong with a husband being proud of his wife. Again, that is probably not news either. "Breaking news: Husband is proud of his wife for fighting illness" isn't anything surprising.

There was a news article a number of days ago talking about how The King has a sticker on one of his cars which was making a "big statement" and shows what "he really thinks" then reveals that the sticker said "save the red squirrel". That is the most predictable, mundane, unsurprising sticker for Charles III to have.

I heard an anecdote of a countryside estate which was going to be visited by Charles when he was still Prince of Wales. They captured a red squirrel from the estate and deliberately released it as he approached a building, so it crossed the Prince's path. Was pretty funny.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
