Lizzie Caplan and Christian Slater were so fucking good and the writing and comedy gags were so funny. The characters were all fantastic. I miss it. Netflix can't keep anything worth a damn on the air. Fuck them.

Yes, it was "misanthropic genius" with a heart and actually a little more grounded despite having lizard people.
His brain is a slurry of Superbowl Commercials and Aaron Sorkin dialogue. 
I watched it because everyone here praised about it. Within 3-4 episodes I learn:
I stopped watching afterwards
It felt like Hoops to me. I didn't like it. It was painful. I'm a filthy Rick and Morty enjoyer though.
