Leave a trail of ketamine that leads into a cage?

[-] Zier@fedia.io 12 points 2 months ago

You spelled Sink Hole incorrectly.

[-] Bubs12@lemm.ee 10 points 2 months ago

No, I think he described a k-hole correctly.

[-] smokebuddy@lemmy.today 4 points 2 months ago

let that sink in, motherfucker

[-] finley@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago

“K hole”?

[-] Trilobite@lemm.ee 4 points 2 months ago

A hot tub would be better

[-] MegaUltraChicken@lemmy.world 65 points 2 months ago

Take. His. Shit.

Billionaires need to understand they are not entitled to the vast wealth they command.

[-] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 months ago

SpaceX should legit be eminent domain’d and just folded into NASA - or at least just make the federal government the primary stakeholder and revoke Phony Stark’s ownership. He’s done shit with SpaceX assets that directly contravene US international policy, which is a direct violation of the Logan Act (which, to be fair, is basically never enforced against anyone who has enough money and power - which needs to change).

[-] Sanctus@lemmy.world 64 points 2 months ago

The real answer is tax him proportionally so he doesnt have more power than the state. You cab tell the state is either an idiot beast or has always served the owner class because it does nothing to defend itself from them. Centralized powers are a mistake.

[-] andyburke@fedia.io 4 points 2 months ago

Personally kind of wondering if the city-state was the best balance.

[-] Sanctus@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

Then you have shit heads like Sparta attacking the other powers.

[-] pearsaltchocolatebar@discuss.online 36 points 2 months ago

Not giving him constant media attention would be a good start.

[-] Kalkaline@leminal.space 22 points 2 months ago

Taxing the shit out of him would probably work pretty well too.

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 13 points 2 months ago

Also, clamping his balls in a floor vise.

[-] teamevil@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago
[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

If he’s into that sort of thing, it sort ruins it for the rest of us

[-] teamevil@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Not fun for him....fun for us....if he's into it, we'll keep going until it's fun for us and he really isn't into it.

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

I got a 270 pound floor vice I can donate to the cause.

Yeah, you never know, that could be one of his kinks, and thus basically a reward

[-] Kalkaline@leminal.space 1 points 2 months ago

Decent backup plan.

[-] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world 33 points 2 months ago

...yo France, I feel like you're a subject matter expert here - any tips?

[-] partial_accumen@lemmy.world -1 points 2 months ago

Tips besides the guillotine.

[-] PP_BOY_@lemmy.world 32 points 2 months ago

Let's not rule anything out just yet

[-] halcyoncmdr@lemmy.world 20 points 2 months ago

Why remove the option we know for a fact was extremely effective?

[-] Xtallll@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Na, go with the gut, first idea is the best idea.

[-] kibiz0r@midwest.social 33 points 2 months ago

Fully expected some ineffectual BS, but then I saw the author was Robert Reich so I decided to give it the time of day.

He’s got some good points. Musk is very vulnerable in a lot of ways, and there’s a decent amount of ammo to attack him on each of those fronts.

If regular people, businesses, and governments all decided to say “fuck you” to him in unison, he could be bankrupt, imprisoned, dethroned, and banned from several industries in just a few years’ time.

Now, his worst-case scenario is extremely unlikely… but I wonder if the fact that bits and pieces of it might come to fruition is why he’s gone so batshit insane over the past several years. It must seem like there’s no choice but to double down on the grift now.

[-] SirDerpy@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Starlink is now critical infrastructure in the military industrial complex. While Musk owns a substantial portion of SpaceX, Starlink's parent company, and Elon over 40% of the equity, he's relatively untouchable.

Does the article address this point specifically?

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago

guess the government needs to take ownership. you know. For national security.

[-] andyburke@fedia.io 3 points 2 months ago

My friend ... all we need to do is let his investors at him.

[-] 2ugly2live@lemmy.world 27 points 2 months ago

Stop. Giving. Him. Attention. Stop using his shit.

[-] eran_morad@lemmy.world 18 points 2 months ago

I just saw a cyber truck in the wild for the 1st time. How the shit can anyone actually want one of those?

[-] very_well_lost@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

I don't know how it's possible, but they're somehow even uglier in person. It's wild.

[-] stoly@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

I was not prepared for how worse they look in person.

[-] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 16 points 2 months ago

Is it a guillotine? What do I win if it's a guillotine? I'm pretty sure it's a guillotine. Just saying. 🤷🏽‍♂️ Might be.

[-] Voroxpete@sh.itjust.works 13 points 2 months ago

Seize all his assets, nationalize his companies.

The fact that we even talk about how to "reign in" billionaires is ridiculous. No one should be a billionaire. No one should be allowed to have total autocratic control over vast swathes of humanity's resources. Every dollar he has represents human labour and natural resources; things that belong to all of us (or none of us depending on your perspective).

[-] earmuff@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 2 months ago

Fraudulent websites get censored constantly. Why does X not count as fraudulent?

Politicians should act. In the mean time, let’s find a way to further damage the platform.

[-] _stranger_@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago
[-] magnetosphere@fedia.io 4 points 2 months ago

The author makes several good points, but watching him implode is fun in the meantime.

[-] steve_floof@lemm.ee 3 points 2 months ago

“Boycott X” not being listed in general, is mind boggling

[-] untorquer@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Yeah, you would imagine that an author could recognize that advertisers are on X because of its popularity. So #4 would require this.

[-] steve_floof@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago

Robert Reich, the author, is on Mastadon (he might be on Twitter/X too). So, I was surprised it didn’t get a mention

[-] untorquer@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Maybe an analysis on why these "wolutions" aren't already occuring and an idea on moving towards them would be more helpful. 4 of 5 are top-down ideas with zero political motivation for those with authority.

[-] jjjalljs@ttrpg.network 2 points 2 months ago

The people that work at twitter could just shut it down. Not like he knows how to run a complicated website.

His security team could also just, I don't know, bring him to an undisclosed location and not bring him back.
