Bridgehampton, New York.

Fucking clickbait headlines.

[-] Fuckfuckmyfuckingass@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

So we going or what?

[-] Donjuanme@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

It was in the handle though, so that's a bit better?

[-] TallonMetroid@lemmy.world 23 points 2 months ago

Didn't realize K-mart was even still in business.

[-] RagingRobot@lemmy.world 19 points 2 months ago

Where have you been buying your Ks?

[-] Rekhyt@lemmy.world 20 points 2 months ago

I shop at S-Mart for all my letter-based shopping needs. I shop smart, at S-Mart

You're buying K's? I only buy vowels.

Hopefully this means that when I search for Kmart items I'll finally only get Australian results for things I can actually buy, rather than stupid Google search results offering USA results, even when I tell it that I'm in Australia where Kmart is alive and well with apparently 301 stores in the country.

Here's an example of me searching for "kmart sandles" on "google.com.au"

Search for "kmart sandles" on "google.com.au" and see USA results.

Google will still find a way to fuck up.

[-] vk6flab@lemmy.radio 5 points 2 months ago

Ever since it became about engagement rather than the right results, the writing was on the wall.

Fortunately this means that there are significant opportunities for search competition. The only thing you need to do is give better results than Google.

Just like all the search engines before Google, it too will become a footnote in the history of the internet.

It's true. Just ask Jeeves.

Add site:kmart.au to your search

I was shocked when I found a legit s-mart in (the real) northern California, I'd always thought it was Sam Rami poking fun at k-mart. I haven't been past that particular store in 15 years, but I wouldn't be shocked at all to learn that it's still going. And that it survived k-mart, it's an interesting time we live in.

[-] sygnius@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

There used to be an S-Mart in southern California too, but it closed down. It was a Korean supermarket similar to H-mart.

let's not forget one of the best holiday ad campaigns in recent history was from Kmart.

Why the clickbait? Just put where it is in the title and save us a click

[-] Etterra@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

Because they need site traffic ad views to pay the electric bill.

[-] cornshark@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago

I understand why the website did it, but not why op did it. Surely they don't get a cut of their ad traffic?

[-] SidewaysHighways@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

I bought my Dreamcast at Kmart

[-] arefx@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 months ago

I remember when sears had a video game section.

Oh great, now Peace & Love, Inc. by Information Society is going to be totally dated. How is anyone going to know what "a blue light special on truth" means now, let alone why it's "the hottest thing with the youth."

[-] mctoasterson@reddthat.com 2 points 2 months ago

K-Mart sucks, Ray.

[-] Etterra@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

So long Kmart. o7
