Truly some top tier Baltic level stuff coming out of Lithuania right now. You know it must be fairly serious when you are on trial for antisemitism in LITHUANIA. Well let’s just do a little bit of research on the leader of the NA, Remigijus Žemaitaitis. First I’ll check his wikiped– oh…

You know it’s gonna be bad when the first sentence of your intro paragraph on Wikipedia page mentions you being known for your antisemitism. I can’t help myself. I have to check what he’s been saying that’s so controversial.

TW actual antisemitism

pooh-wtf

[this is a well-known Lithuanian anti-Semitic rhyme].

what-the-hell Of course it is! And of course Lithuania has a well known antisemitic rhyme!

Hm actually I don’t need to read his other quotes. Read more about the antisemitism trial he is currently on here. (warning: his quotes are here and contain obvious and aggressive antisemitism)

Firstly, it is not true that fascism is only the fighting organisation of the bourgeoisie. Fascism is not only a military-technical category. Fascism is the bourgeoisie’s fighting organisation that relies on the active support of Social-Democracy. Social-Democracy is objectively the moderate wing of fascism. There is no ground for assuming that the fighting organisation of the bourgeoisie can achieve decisive successes in battles, or in governing the country, without the active support of Social-Democracy.

This J.V. guy seems legit! I think we could all be a bit better if we read more of what he wrote!

Having “Dawn” in the name of a political party is an automatic red flag

[-] BlastboomStrice@mander.xyz 21 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

May I ask how did you figure this out?

We had a "golden dawn" party here in Greece and it was a nazi party. What's the connection between "dawn" and nazis?

Edit: thank you for your responses people :)

Fascists love larping with pseudo-historic religious symbolism, whether that's christian crusaders shit, occult shit, celtic shit, buddhist shit or viking shit. They coopt anything and everything in that kind of spectrum.

I’m not sure if there’s anything explicit in the bowels of fascist/nazi symbolism or mythology to explain it. I think it’s the imagery of “return to the start of the day” fits into fascism’s reactionary nature; we could have the good ol’ days again if we returned to what made us great in the romanticized dawn of the culture/body politic.

It has nothing to actually do with anything academic or intelligent because fascists lack the proper skills on analysis to do anything like that. Fascists like shit like “dawn” or “rising” because they think its cool.

It’s the same reason Elon Musk was doing shit like posting about Fullmetal Alchemist as if he wouldn’t be one of the villains hated by the main characters. He knows it’s supposed to be cool so if he likes it and co-opts it that makes him cool, but for him to co-opt it he must completely be missing the message

Pretty sad that the Communist Party of Lithuania merged with these guys and became cringe. Also, didn't there used to be Far-Right Militias in Lithuania that refused to accept that center-left parties (former communists) won the elections and plotted a coup during the 1990s - 2000s?

[-] CoolerOpposide@hexbear.net 8 points 1 day ago

The far right in Lithuania was very upset they lost that election because they figured they were the main organizers of independence. The reality is that many people wanted independence but never subscribed to the views of the far right

Average Lithuania moment- next!

Since anti-semitism has been completed degraded and reversed by conflation with anti-zionism... Here are the actual charges according to imperial news:

Statements by him that the court condemned included a comment on social media that Israel’s treatment of Palestinians made it easy to understand why people would violently target Jews. He has also claimed, against all evidence, that a June 1944 massacre by the Nazis in the Lithuanian village of at Pirciupiai was the work of “Lithuanian Jews together with the Russians.”

I'm not denying that this is potentially anti-semitic. I'm just saying that it's no longer safe to assume that charges of anti-semitism are in good faith, especially from imperial sources.

He’s the founder of a far-right political party from the baltics, on trial IN THE BALTICS for antisemitism. Can you imagine how actually antisemitic you have to be to get put on trial for it in Lithuania, which puts up statues of Nazi collaborators? Pretty much no need to question whether or not he is actually being antisemitic.

That being said, of course the galaxy brain liberals are lumping in any critique of Israel as antisemitism

[-] Frank@hexbear.net 23 points 1 day ago

It's still easy to tell if it's anti-semitism or zionist propaganda.

June 1944 massacre by the Nazis in the Lithuanian village of at Pirciupiai was the work of “Lithuanian Jews together with the Russians.”

Especially when it include literal judeobolshevism nonsense.

Right? Is Lithuania the one where it's a crime for Jewish people to try to reclaim their property stolen during the war?

[-] bennieandthez@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 1 day ago

wouldnt be surprised if the 3 baltic states did it
