Since he is planning to start with multiple countries at once (and violating his own USMCA) maybe no one will win, but we definitively will lose.

I hope it is just hot steam and he won't do it.

It sounds like the effect will essentially be to leave everyone else trading at a normal rate, while the US economy is shut inside a bubble of tariffs and religious authoritarianism. I can’t quite work out who they’ll be trading with at this rate!

Easy, they're gonna ship to other countries and we'll buy from there. The tariff will be avoided. Prices will be not quite as high, and that extra money will go to another country instead of the government. Woooo, worst of both options!
