In addition to all the legal issues already brought up, there is also the fact that Trump is straight up lying about this - as usual of course. He is one of the most extreme narcissists known to the history of man. Being and/or running for president is giving him an absolutely limitless faucet of attention to wrap his fat lips around and suckle like the runt who finally managed to kick the rest of the piglets out of the litter. He is helplessly addicted to it. It's like heroin to him.

Iceshrimp is also in a weird place right now, as it's currently also in maintenance mode while the ongoing iceshrimp.NET full rewrite is happening. Seeing the OP's comments about the Firefish codebase, that rewrite might be just what's needed - provided it's actually completed.

Yes Donald, please keep running your mouth until Texas is in play.

The chance of him legitimately winning is way, way higher than 0%. Now, that does not mean he isn't also planning a coup. It seems he and/or the republican party very much is putting plans in motion.

Regardless, don't get overconfident, don't get complacent.

I don't think he does lock down PA, his approval is solid but nothing crazy. And on top of that he has so many vulnerabilities. School vouchers and protest response, on top of old quotes being dredged out and the potential cover-up of sexual misconduct of one of his aides.

I would have looked at Kelly for his cheap points to score with low information voters (combat decorated Navy captain, astronaut), but Walz is also incredibly popular and has a good track record.

She should have good experience from her time as a prosecutor, but then again Trump has some sort of special combination of complete lack of respect and loud voice that seems to let him bulldoze people in conversation. I really hope she pushes back and doesn't let him get away with his usual bullshit, but examples of him actually being put in his place are rare.

I really hope the moderators are good, too, but I'm not optimistic about that. Which might also play a role.

What the fuck are those MAGA idiots high on?

Fox News and a lifetime of leaded gasoline is a hell of a drug.

You know, KMag gets a lot of shit but I'm truthfully going to miss him on the grid. Love him or hate him he is a true racer, and you can always rely on him providing some entertainment on Sundays. In an era when most people on the back half of the grid are thinking strategically and focusing on their own race, KMag is one of the few who will always defend hard, even if it's Verstappen behind after a pitstop and he really stands no chance in the long run. As someone who enjoys the duels I can't help but appreciate him.

I haven't read the design docs for Van Buren myself, were there enough in there to actually build a game out of or is this project more fanfiction and educated guesswork?

I don't think the writing is particularly good, and it is particularly problematic in Act 3. The pacing falls apart, all urgency disappears and there is also a big problem with the villains. Gortash and Orin are pretty bad characters and the nebulous blob that is the Nether Brain is not a compelling antagonist. The Emperor is a pretty interesting character, but he sadly doesn't really play out as an antagonist - which I find a massive waste in itself. It also felt like some parts of the plot only make sense if you're playing as Dark Urge.

The companions all being extremely horny and protagonist-sexual gives off a weird vibe, and the progression and design of the relationship system is extremely bad. As an example, Shadowheart can say you're her soulmate that changed her whole life on like the second day you spend together! There is also a severe lack of bonding moments that are purely adventure party/friendship and not avenues for everyone else to hit on you.

There being literally 0 consequences for dabbling in Mind Flayer powers felt weird and bad and generally undercut the impact of the entire main story. There is no reason not to fill out your whole tadpole tree (including becoming half illithid), and there is no reward for completely abstaining. No specific dialogue, no impact on the ending. Not even an achievement.

Lots of small attempts at fanservice for fans of BG 1&2 feel like surface level lipservice made by people who never played the originals. The Flail of Ages being a shitty rare regular flail sold in a random shop is just depressing.

I wish they left more BG 1&2 characters alone if they didn't know exactly what to do with them. Jaheira is mostly fine, but even Minsc felt out of place and shoehorned in and the character assassinations of Viconia and Sarevok just felt terrible. Especially since the role of both of those characters in the plot could have easily been replaced with brand new NPCs.

On a similar note, it strikes me as extremely weird that they seemingly outright refused to have any voice actor reprise their role. Heidi Shannon has disappeared from the face of the earth so Jaheira needed to be recast, but Grey DeLisle (Viconia) and Kevin Michael Richardson (Sarevok) are still out there working for example and Jim Cummings (Minsc) was asking random fans at cons to remind Larian he exists.

Commenters were already counted, though, so this bump is really just the vote-only population getting added. Which is still important to maintaining a healthy and varied front-page, mind you.

I'm convinced they had Cyberpunk win it because they don't have a "Best DLC/Expansion" category (yet) and felt like Cyberpunk deserved to win something for the way 2.0 and Phantom Liberty revitalised it.
