I dislike that Lemmy is such a left-wing echo chamber. Reddit had a much wider variety of opinions being voiced openly; on Lemmy, there’s almost none. It doesn’t take long to figure out what’s acceptable to say here and what isn’t. It’s a kind of self-gaslighting because it can make you feel like the opinions of the average Lemmy user represent the wider population when that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Also, there are almost no blue-collar workers here, and most discussions revolve around office jobs and big city life.

EDIT: and the extreme levels of cynicism.

Doesn't matter how careful you are if the people close yo you with that information aren't.

'Why yes ofcourse you can access my address book in order for me to play candy crush.'

Many things. For example, every single president during my lifetime has been almost universally liked by everyone in the country - kind of like a lifetime of Obamas.

A more recent example of something they do well is when I started my business. I received nearly 10 hours of one-on-one personal guidance on how to do it, completely free. They’re also paying me around 600 euros a month for a year to help me get started.

I can't believe how little news coverage there has been about this. Seeing that thing land was probably the most impressive thing I've ever seen.

I wouldn't know. My office moves on 4 wheels and is full of tools. She's the one pulling the pranks on me and they're never good - just expensive.

Isn't it good that the money is being put back into circulation instead of being hoarded? I'm all in for the wealthy wasting their money.

Yeah, edge that sharp serves no purpose on axe. It'll bend and then be dull again. Shallower point with the burr removed is more durable and stays sharp(ish) for much longer.

That's mostly why I polished it, though we might be thinking of different contaminants
