My bigger concern is the US weapons getting used to blow them into pieces by your government.

I find Stein a bit grating, but I always finds greens hard to pin down politically. I'd much rather this air time have gone to someone like Claudia de la Cruz with something interesting to say and some principles to back it up

Gaslighting? Disingenuous? You're the one asserting that anyone down voting must be a hexbear alt, by virtue of the fact that nobody could possibly disagree unless they were already a hexbear user.

It's just a bit circular and not disprovable anyways. Maybe the admins should just check the logs and ban everyone who's down voted so you can rest easy. Wouldn't want to have any authoritarians using lemmy.

Part of the problem is running for office takes money, resources, etc. Young people are still more broke than ever and so it's left to the same shrinking minority of people who are able to meaningfully engage with getting elected as in the previous generation. I want to be hopeful, but if the 'new guard' has all the same material interests as the old guard, I don't think there's going to be a meaningful change left to their own devices.

I can express my total disgust with the people representing me, while still not wanting worse to happen.

The issue is that our military support of our colonies is emeshed with our political system to the point where de-escalation is impossible. This is not something which has been arrived at democratically and I don't have much confidence it can be solved in the existing "democratic" process.

  • So we don’t want a ceasefire? WHAT?

weasel politicians have discovered that you don't need to do anything, you simply need to say you're doing something, and change the meaning of the word. 'ceasefire' as the democrats now speak about it, is too little, too late. Especially considering they have been the administration bypassing congress to send weapons to the ongoing massacre.

  • And you think Israel is only buying weapons from the US…?

If it was viable for the settler entity to support itself, why are the Democrats so quick to send them bombs to murder civilians with? Cut them off.

There's actually a lot of lgbt people there, based on their last poll:

genocide deniers who very clearly use their power over the community to push a narrative of genocide denial.

You are the premier genocide denier I've run into on this platform, you're more concerned about the Democrats election chances than the people they help kill.

the things i consider bad and not polical stance are : for instance i just don’t like trump because he is against t lgbt and being racist etc. Which are geniunly bad in my opinion and not just difference in opinions

I haven't run into anyone with a racism or anti LGBT stance on .ml, or grad or hexbear, unless you include shittalking white people. The only time I've seen Trump come up is to mock him, they just hate Joe Biden for his long list of crimes too.

Those instances have been the quickest to remove transphobia, meanwhile in other places it will often get straight up ignored/denied.

I don't really see how participating in electoral democracy fixes the problem of settler conquest. The state has lost all legitimacy in a lot of peoples eyes and I don't blame them for not wanting any part of it.

I don't blame people for resisting occupation.
