At a party in a cabin in the woods

There's way more tectonic plates than continents and a lot of landmasses we think of as contiguous are on different plates. Itd be very impractical to try to make them the same. Iceland would be a transcontinental country, California would be its own continent, Asia would be several continents, there would be continents that are just patches of the Pacific Ocean or the Caribbean, and so on

That is true, but the vast majority of Americans do not think in these terms. Because of that, many Latines who'd be considered white in Latin America arguably lack white privilege, or have it to a lesser extent than Anglos.

My point is this guy is likely not viewed as white by his community.

Also, as far as white privilege can go, arrested and charged white heroin dealers do not typically (and never explicitly) get off scot free for being white, but this guy faced 0 consequences explicitly because he is in the military.

Hereditary scared me most too

I really agree overall.

if you were to apply this same principle to this conversation it seems like saying "I hate white people" isn't actually annoying in that way because it doesn't draw attention away from societal issues

On this site and in similar contexts (i.e. with an audience already pretty on board), I agree it doesn't really shift attention. This site has never been about "optics" and I think that's fine. In a different context, like if you were sharing critiques of white supremacy (in person) with someone who is ignorant of them, I do think that would be a distraction from the point and likely to confuse.

Now with added salt!

They used to use "lira", like Turkiye does today. It was changed to be more Hebrew in the 80s
