I’m wondering how are all those different Lemmy instances financed? I know some rely on donations, but is that all and is that sustainable?

My wife is from Iceland and though earthquakes are common it’s still really tough for the people living in Grindavik. They are being relocated and had to leave their homes. That’s around 3.500 people. Also the power plant in that area provides electricity and hot water for around 30.000 people.
