It really depends on what people consider to be loot boxes imo, yes the traditional Tf2 once or the CSGO once which blew this hole thing open yes.

But does it stop with loot goblins in a game like Borderlands? Or does it stop with Magic the Gathering packs (which are required to play sealed/draft).

Actual gambling involves being able to lose your money and get nothing in return, with loot boxes you always get something. The predatory tactics against children need to stop, but there is no reason that an adult is allowed to gamble, but not open loot boxes.

If I had 1 cent every time I read that… and I pulled those cents together… and then paid software developers to build that missing software for other OSes like Linux… then we’d gradually see less of those comments.

There is a version of the software that works in the browser, but it's not really that great. That's what you get when you legally need to use specific software (even the Dutch tax office still use the same old version we use). There are other alternatives, but it's a massive investment of time to test and switch to that. Something we are forced to do in the near future, but it's gonna take a lot of time inclusing a lot of time of people with hourly rates of over the 200 EUR excluding VAT. I estimate it will cost us maybe 50% of our yearly revenue to fully switch an organisation to Linux and we will loose a lot of people working here where there are a lot of issues with finding new people for accounting firms.

I have been trying to install Microsoft Office in Linux mint on my personal PC cause I have more issues with LibreOffice when using MSOffice files (and the people receiving the files will be using MSOffice as well) than I have with games. I tried it using Bottles (Wine) with multiple different installers, but no luck so far.

Not sure what NLNet is going to do about software lol, I believe you mean something different. NLNet is an instance that is there for people living with lymphedema and/or lipedema and their loved ones.

The recommended rate for RAM to TB of storage is one, so for every 1TB of data they recommend you need to have 1GB of ram. Not sure how relevant it actually is since I have a lot more ram than storage on the server, but just something to note.

Virtualising ZFS on top of ZFS is generally not supported and can cause issues. I run TrueNas baremetal and run a lot of docker services in TrueNas itself, you can also run VM's on TrueNas. I know some people virtualise TrueNas in Proxmox, but the only use I see is to host something in a VM on proxmos that you cannot really run inside a TrueNas VM. The thing with TrueNas is that everything is either stored in the datasets or in the config file. The latter can be backupped pretty easily.

I have both a TrueNas server and a Proxmox box with OPnsense running, Proxmox is very nice I just don't see a reason to run TrueNas inside Proxmox.

Pretty sure they are fiscally located in Ireland like a lot of big companies for tax reason and for EU VAT reasons.

Why 16? why not 14 or 18 if you are that kind of a dick. Like I understand that some people ask their childeren to pay rent once they get a fulltime job. Heck I have heard of parents who didn't need to money from their kids so they put it in a savings account in the kdis name and gave it to them when they needed to buy a house). I also know somebody who was 10k short of buying an appartement, he had to pay rent to help his parents stay afloat.

Well yes, but Proton is still located in Switzerland and has a decent governance structure in play with a non profit. He cannot just kill the company by switching it’s core USP

A general increase in old person pension?

Proton’s official account also deleted the comment and Yen created a new account for himself so Proton did what eas really required by any rule book or whatever you wanna call it in situations like this.

So no I wouldn’t say Proton agreed on it.

Call him out for his tweet or Protons post fair, but that doesnt him a MAGA supporter. It just makes him a supporter of a bullshit statement. And it definitely doesn’t make Proton MAGA. Nuances are needed to make it so people can have their own opinions formed and we don’t get a black or white/good or bad view on the world.

That depends a bit on if it was advertised or not to have a laundry room. At least here in NL it is more common to have your own washing machine than to use a shared one so having a laundry room would be an extra to start with.

Still sucks though
