This is the case with off-screen violence for 999/1000 people who advocate for war, forceful suppression, etc. - they'd change their mind really, really quickly if someone in a suit so much as made a weird face at them.

Being stuck underneath someone in a novice level competition is a really uncomfortable experience. Being stuck underneath someone who you can't double tap to make them stop is terrifying. Being stuck underneath someone who wants to harm you is a nightmare. Being stuck underneath someone who wants to harm you with a weapon is worse. Being stuck underneath someone who wants to torture you with a weapon while their friends cheer them on is a tragedy. Then when you hear about that shit happening to your neighbor after 20% of Koreans died during a war, suddenly the guy with nuclear weapons who says he's against that sort of thing seems like a nice guy to you.

My favorite part of the story where the boy travels around the entire world meeting a bunch of other world travelers is when nobody travels and is instead silo'd into their little kingdoms just like the most prominent antagonist, the world government, likes it.

Wait, I just had an idea for the first time ever that no one has ever thought of: what if bright but underprivileged minds were able to find access to education instead of being priced out of it? They might make something really cool! very-smart

I did not watch the debate and all this news feels like a properly written eldritch monster. I'm so deeply curious so I might need to watch it

Those people on Twitter who are making death threats political LMAO

IM SORRY, I THOUGHT THIS WAS AMERICA!

The people who are throwing a tantrum about whether the Acolyte is canon to make death threats in the first place are something else, comrade. Holy shit. I struggle to feel anything but disgusted. I try to find empathy, but I run it through my internal empathy calculator and it spits back an error. pronouns

I, as an author, desire to capture a sense of escalating tension while both increasing jargon and maintaining low stakes. Like if Toy Story were a slice of life. I have fallen flat on my face imagining something this person does so effortlessly

My dad likes to cite movies when he's debating. It's so bizarre to me and it shuts off my desire to have engaged conversations with him.

Beautifully put. It's not like Hunter Biden being in jail is going to make me feel good either. Let other people's sons and daughters out of jail for shit no one cares about. If you would then decide to get help for addicts then you'd have my non-American vote so fucking fast

Edit: he'd face jail time for tax memes, not for the stuff normies go to jail for. Hehexd moment

Oh fuck off. I was going to do something cute like suggest Zionophobic. The US government when me and a neo nazi are in the same room

same-picture

What gets me is that it's specific for all the things you like and then they say it's predictive of success in life. Yeah, in an inequitable society that WE ALL AGREE is nepotistic and ineffectual it's not hard to imagine that people who are already more successful will end up successful still

I had the idea that we were talking about liberal with the quotations around left. I suppose this could be misguided tolerating intolerance. I just hoped for better. The position that liberals are bewildered when they're attacked from the left is a common point when talking about federation. If it's about communists it's probably systemic violence apologia
