i'm not entirely sure about models? i mean i know it's technically a train that doesn't exist, and i guess it's a piece of art; but it doesn't seem quite right^?^ i was all for this one because it is still a painting; even though it's a photo of a wall^?^ i'm not certain about this rule though

yeah i honestly thought it was at first; especially with an uncredited artist

it works flawlessly in eternity, although there's no thumbnail

i did like the original holmes, although i must admit i haven't read them since i was very young. i didn't know it was similar to holmes though, that does bump it up the list (although i am currently watching through star trek, and there's a lot of that)

does.. does coruscant have a hole in the middle?

i'll admit i haven't kept up with the newer stars war, but i thought it was just a city planet?

thank you!

(also, i'm flattered that you think i look organised, i'm very new to this so i don't feel organised at all)

lemm.ee was talking about using cloudflare (i can't remember whether he went through with it), which will almost certainly implement this. lemmy.world already does. there is no good outcome from this going through where this only blocks google sites from firefox.

even if there was, that still means you can't open any gdrive links you find on the internet, use a youtube tutorial to fix something, use the play store to buy any apps (because if they integrate this into chrome, they will integrate it into the play store), etc.

edit 2023-08-10:

hey guess what engywuck, lemm.ee uses cloudflare now:

image showing the cloudflare "edge ip restricted" page for lemm.ee

good luck accessing lemm.ee from non-chromium if this goes through

in fact view you probably won't be able to view any embedded youtube videos at all. people would have to go back to hosting their own videos which would push hosting costs up, which would raise the barrier of entry to people making their own sites. which is something we want to encourage

I agree with that, however I think that's a separate issue to federation and instance agnostic links. Fixing both at the same time sure would be efficient, though.

that's a fair point, i guess i just saw that and my mind jumped to other url related points

it would be nice to have them both solved together though

Edit2: Ohhhh I think I see now, citations, with a link back to the position the citation was in. That looks really good for long comments.

yeah they're not in the lemmy markdown cheat sheet, but they're supported by markdown-it, the library that lemmy uses^[there's actually two different formats available as well]

this is a userscript that i'm using, and has the option to enable open all links in new tab. i also found this whilst searching for it just now, but i haven't used it

but what device are you using that doesn't have a mouse, trackpad, or ctrl key?

This is another environment design for the short, dieselpunk inspired film I worked on a while back, and an homage to the great Victorian civil engineer, Isambard Kingdom Brunel. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isambard_Kingdom_Brunel

Not my proudest lighting moment, but design wise, I achieved what I was after. The title comes from William Blake's poem Jerusalem. It was one of many sources of inspiration, chief among which, was an incredible passage from H.G Wells' book In The Days of the Comet. Unfortunately, ArtStation has a word limit in the description box, otherwise I would give it here. All I can do, is urge you to read the book. It may not be as well known as his War of the Worlds, or The Time Machine, but its easily his best. A more frank, honest description of the trials and tribulations of young manhood, you will never find

it's a star ship - that's what the sub is for right?

the title is conjecture - i don't know if it's officially been titled, but it was used as the cover art of glory, by alfred coppel; and possibly also released as a trading card under the name "ship of gold"

Ion storm by Emmanuel Shiu (cdna.artstation.com)

Had a good time watching Alien Covenant yesterday. I did some stuff for the Ion storm sequence for Framestore under Christian Kaestner. It was a really fun process working with Christain and Framestore. This painting was one of many versions. This one just happened to be my personal favorite. It was a bit too over the top for them though smiley Regardless, Framestore did an awesome job on the show! Congrats!

your bio is much better than mine though. it's humourous, but also actually descriptive - mine's just a link to my site and other lemmy acct.
