Resolving this issue in the uneducated worker is going to be important in reaching class-consciousness. This does not only happen amongst the workers or those who are uneducated. People who are right-wing or so-called centrists (including liberals) do adopt this position of "its because we're under capitalism", saying "Oh well", then continuing to live their lives. The worker is disillusioned with not having the freedom to live the lives they want. To have a work that they can feel secure under, that guarantees their healthcare and rights. This can only just lead to a limited number of options. The workers will play the role of labour aristocracy that the bourgeoisie want them to play. This is not mutually exclusive to nihilism. They can be brainwashed into the capitalistic dream of one day being able to be as rich as the millionaires, fully submitting into capitalism. They can adopt nihlism of there not being anything else they can do, in another way, also submitting to the current system. Capitalism is just how the world works, what else can I do?

Education is largely bourgeoisie sponsored which does mean the learners are trained to adopt a black and white thinking, they'll either not grow up learning an alternative system at all or will learn that the alternative systems that existed are apparently way worse than the current one so there's nothing else one can do.

All of this is nothing that doesn't exist in theory, its just that these conversations are useless, they don't contribute to anything but reinforcement of intentionally or unintentionally succumbing to capitalistic ideology.

The current young and coming generations are so used to seeing short-form video content across social media platforms, seeing manosphere videos and finance tech bros (ofcourse a huge overlap in those two) telling one that they can be like them. Toxic masculinity is something that is constantly hugely influencing how the teenagers at present grow up in. We can't tell these kids, if we do happen to stumble on them, not to listen to these youtube videos. Influencing someone at this age is a very complex process and using direct wordings won't work. Plus, what can we do if (and mostly, when) their parents themselves are not that educated, or in cases where the parents themselves are aspiring to be millionaires and not realizing the class-conflict that separates them from their dreams. This is mostly seen in the middle-class because the people in the videos themselves have become the rich. They can only keep their status, ofcourse, by continuing to exploit the lower classes.

Are the victims of these people really changeable? Coming back to the point of where workers go from here, I feel like there is a thin line, from where a worker is still disillusioned by their work and continues to work, being nihilistic, to where they become conscious of their class yet decide they chose to support the rich.

Ofcourse, its only by doing our best to educate class-consciousness onto the former can we continue to move on in our revolution. Domino effect will happen, but we have to actively play a part in it. Socialism being necessary and inevitable means the people play a part in making it that way

Bourgeoisie education is exploitation. Education does not have to be that way.

(This is not a theory related post, just my opinions on things)

I don't want to debate right-wingers online, its just a waste of time, but that's where they get most of the support from. its not that the right wingers have an established community online and they do hate speech, the worse thing I get sad about is the people they brainwash.

I'm still learning theory, but I also want to start educating myself on discourse and meta-discourse too, and pointing out the fallacies that they go for, why they go for it, why the uneducated believe it.

I know there are resources on this, I just wanted to know where I can start. Would linguistics be a field of study connected to this? I think it does make sense.

Forgive me if I'm just overthinking or thinking about nothing, I'm just wondering how educated should a worker be to be class conscious?

How I came to thinking was just pondering on people who are gullible to other people's opinions, and the ethics of ethical education? Maybe just nonsense meta stuff, but what exactly can people do, and how can we teach people to be self-aware enough to listen to what they truly believe in. Especially when it comes to adolescents who are surrounded by information dumping news sources and ideas from all sides, and any one source just has to be charismatic/bold enough for it to stick in someone's head for long term

The classic one is probably good for a well rounded revolutionary, but it’s kind of long for a beginner, and there’s also newer theory that’s not included, but is necessary for understanding todays material conditions. It feels weird sending baby leftists a long list of old dense texts. I’ve been sending people Principles of Communism, five essays on Philosophy, Blackshirts and the Reds, and the Red Deal. Is this a good idea? I feel like it’s important to inform modern MLs of socialist history, and also I should probably add some works on imperialism. Any thoughts?

We're international so any foreigners to the United States are welcome. The Communist Party of China will be there as well as other communist parties. Join in!

If you're Indigenous, join us.

If you're trans, join us.

If you're neurodivergent, join us.

If you're BIPOC in general or LGBTQI+ or neurodivergent/autistic, join us.

Please help us out in spreading the word anywhere and everywhere. The event starts in nine days so make sure to put this on your Outlook Calendar or Google Calendar or Vivaldi Calendar or whatever calendar app you use (maybe even a regular calendar). Make sure to set it with notifications since you won't want to miss this event. It's quite important within the over-a-hundred-year history of the Communist Party USA thus far.

Note: You do not have to be a member or past member of the Communist Party USA.

Note #2: You do not have to be from the United States (and, in fact, we encourage foreigners to join us, especially those from other communist parties).

From the description within this link:

"During this period of heightened imperialist aggression, we are witnessing the frenzied efforts of the U.S. to preserve its position as global hegemon. NATO is continuing to expand, the new cold war against China is escalating, and Cuba remains under heavy embargo and wrongfully listed as a state-sponsor of terrorism. The current tasks of the international working class are of extreme historical significance.

This conference comes at a very important and dynamic time. US Imperialism is on the march at a rate that we have not seen in decades. The looming end of the unipolar world order is causing much distress among the ruling class and they are desperate to preserve their power. The struggle for democracy and socialism in the United States is inseparable from the struggle against imperialism abroad."

You can find the full link here: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_uFbujAswTPqOwrCEeVJ38A#/registration

We support Landback, decolonization, anti-imperialism, anti-capitalism, and, of course, socialism (and later, communism). We support the labor movement and have many members who are in labor unions. We were there with Chris Smalls in setting up the Amazon Labor Union and JT Chapman (otherwise known as Second Thought) will be there. We are against the fascist menace as well as United States neo-colonialism abroad. We say Hands Off Haiti, Hands Off Tunisia, and Hands Off Peru, wherever US influence, military, and subterfuge is present.

The International Department of the CPUSA also has Red World Review, a new outlet that we're increasingly updating, which you can find through this link here: https://redworldreview.org

We also invite others to join the Communist Party USA (CPUSA), but of course, learn about the organization first (its history and its politics). You can find our literature here in International Publishers (we urge you to get the books from the original Marxist publisher rather than Amazon) as well as our Party Program here and our Constitution here. You can also contact us by district here.

(And I do suggest you contact us by district rather than by our main email, though you may indeed do that; an application directly to the individual districts will go better as we are currently swamped with messaging and applications and sometimes applications take months to a year and other times they may take a few weeks or a week at most.) So prioritize contacting the district rather than the main body itself. But make sure to do your research, even if you're already a communist, on the party, its history, its context, its politics, etc. (which means reading some of the literature).

There's also this neat archive of old CPUSA literature (as well as old Soviet, African, LatAm, and Asian literature) that has been saved from obscurity (over 1,200 works) by a man that goes by "Ismail"; you can access the archive here. I really suggest clicking through it as it's one of the best-kept secrets on the web and I'd like to spread this person's good works (as well as hard work) around.

A bunch of members of the CPUSA also made these reading lists to help others get started in learning more about us:

Lastly, since this is Reddit, consider starting an account on Lemmygrad or Hexbear (or both) since they're both communities untouched by Reddit shenanigans like the API fiasco.

(That's more of an aside than anything else.)

Anyway, tl;dr: join us for this event.

On lemmy.world I posted a comment on how liberals use 'tankie' as an invective to shut down dialogue and received tons of hateful replies. I tried to respond in a rational way to each. Someone's said 'get educated' I responded 'Im reading Norman Finkelstein's I'll burn that bridge when I get there' and tried to keep it civil.

They deleted every comment I made and banned me. Proving my point, they just want to shut down dialogue. Freedom of speech doesn't existing in those 'totalitarian' countries right? But in our 'enlightened' western countries we just delete you.

echo chamber (lemm.ee)

I was hoping to be able to interact with this community and learn and share, but my initial responses have suggested this is sadly an echo chamber, and any contrasting views are not tolerated. I would have appreciated explanations and suggestions but having experienced nothing but lazy downvotes and little discourse I suggest this community is doing communism a great disservice. Shame. I will be blocking this community and will begin to suggest others avoid it for the above reasons.

This is the only reasonable argument, but I know rabid liberals frothing at the mouth over more dead Russians don't want to see it.

Still, for those who are still reasonable in their goals and ends, and the outcome they actually want to see, there's only one solution.

The argument on the pro-UA side is that Putin has the "choice" to just up and leave Ukraine at any time. I've written before about why he doesn't -- not after all the sanctions, not after all the resources and troops committed. NATO/Europe will not say "alright you're a good sport mate, we'll drop the sanctions and pretend this whole thing never happened, deal?". There's a "warrant" out for Putin at the ICC, what makes anyone sincerely believe things can go back to where they were before for Russia?

It should hopefully be clear that the people calling for Putin to just "leave Ukraine" know they're not being reasonable. These are some of the same people who also cheer when Ukraine gets new weapons to kill more Russians with. The goal for this segment is not peace, it's actually to prolong the war.

I'm addressing the reasonable side, however, who might have been inadvertently taken in by this psyop. I mean, isn't it weird how NAFO suddenly popped up everywhere and got media coverage? After they're doing the exact same thing as the Lithuanian elves (because elves fight against orcs) did back in 2014, and it turned out the "elves" were NATO?

Saying Putin can just leave Ukraine is impotent rage. Yeah, sure, I'm just gonna give him a quick call. He really cares what some westerners think about his war, especially now that he has to contend against NATO intervention. I'm sure we can totally convince him he's being a total nerd if we just yell about it on Twitter.

So if you actually want peace, what's the reasonable solution?

Organise locally, petition your government to stop sending money and weapons to Ukraine. Organise and protest for a peace deal. I know it's probably not what you want to hear.

But these weapons prolong the war. Just earlier today I saw a video of an APC full of 8+ Ukrainians get obliterated by a missile strike. Where did they get that APC do you think?

Do you want Ukrainians to stop dying? Me too. The most pragmatic way, the only one towards which we can actually do something, is to protest against our governments sending equipment that prolong this war.

Otherwise you have to realise this war is going to be fought to the last Ukrainian. Do you really think it's weakening Russia in any lasting capacity? The fighting is happening in Ukraine. Ukraine has been losing population consistently since 1990 (a whole fifth of it lost, mostly, to emigration). What exactly is weakening in Russia? It's Ukraine that's being destroyed and will need to be rebuilt. It's Ukraine that's losing their population by the thousands. It's Ukraine that's shooting depleted uranium bullets on their own soil.

What you're advocating for, when you advocate to prolong this war, is to kill every last Ukrainian and turn their country into a wasteland. The UA army is even using depleted uranium bullets now (courtesy of US and UK), which have polluted the land when they were used in Iraq. This is backed up by data, right? Depleted uranium has data behind it, it's not speculation.

The reason the war is being prolonged is because it makes a lot of money to the military-industrial complex. It makes a lot of money to corporations due to the inflation. A blackrock affiliate said on hidden camera recently that when Russia blows up a grain silo, the price of wheat goes up. War is a great business opportunity, always has been. And then when Ukraine will need to be rebuilt, it'll make Blackrock a lot more money.

But I'm not sure who they will rebuild the country for if there's no one else left to live in Ukraine.

My solution is the only one that makes sense. Any other is purely impotent and just venting frustrations, not effecting any actual change.

I was banned without notice for calling out that supporting Putin is not something we should be doing, check my post history, you won't easily find people more radicalized than me.

This was my final post:

///

To let things slide for the sake of peace and friendship when a person has clearly gone wrong, and refrain from principled argument because he is an old acquaintance, a fellow townsman, a schoolmate, a close friend, a loved one, an old colleague or old subordinate.

Like we're doing with Putin?

///

"Like we're doing with Putin?" in reply to a Mao quote, genzdong's front page at the time was full of threads and posts defending Putin.

Not defending Ukraine is understandable, attacking the USA is understandable but trying to defend and justify Putin is a direct offense against Mao's teachings.

Putin has clearly gone wrong, we mustn't refrain from principled argument because he's an old acquaintance (is he?).

My parents are landlords of a medium apartment with a family of 4 living inside it. Is it hypocritical for me to be a Marxist-Leninist when my parents are landlords? especially considering what past revolutionaries have done to landlords (Mao). To clarify things, i do not agree with the concept of landlord-ism and how my parents (and me too from a broader view) are benefiting from someone else's income while doing nothing except owning basic human needs

Discussion Community for fellow Marxist-Leninists and other Marxists.

Rules for /c/communism

Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.

  1. No non-marxists

This subreddit is here to facilitate discussion between marxists.

There are other communities aimed at helping along new communists. This community isn't here to convert naysayers to marxism.

If you are a member of the police, armed forces, or any other part of the repressive state apparatus of capitalist nations, you will be banned.

  1. No oppressive language

Do not attempt to justify your use of oppressive language.

Doing this will almost assuredly result in a ban. Accept the criticism in a principled manner, edit your post or comment accordingly, and move on, learning from your mistake.

We believe that speech, like everything else, has a class character, and that some speech can be oppressive. This is why speech that is patriarchal, white supremacist, cissupremacist, homophobic, ableist, or otherwise oppressive is banned.

TERF is not a slur.

  1. No low quality or off-topic posts

Posts that are low-effort or otherwise irrelevant will be removed.

This is not a place to engage in meta-drama or discuss random reactionaries on lemmy or anywhere else.

This includes memes and circlejerking.

This includes most images, such as random books or memorabilia you found.

We ask that amerikan posters refrain from posting about US bourgeois politics. The rest of the world really doesn’t care that much.

  1. No basic questions about marxism

Posts asking entry-level questions will be removed.

Questions like “What is Maoism?” or “Why do Stalinists believe what they do?” will be removed, as they are not the focus on this forum.

  1. No sectarianism

Marxists of all tendencies are welcome here.

Refrain from sectarianism, defined here as unprincipled criticism. Posts trash-talking a certain tendency or marxist figure will be removed. Circlejerking, throwing insults around, and other pettiness is unacceptable.

If criticisms must be made, make them in a principled manner, applying Marxist analysis.

The goal of this subreddit is the accretion of theory and knowledge and the promotion of quality discussion and criticism.
