Hi there,

I have an Android phone that is offline and I would like for it to sign transactions offline and then have a view-only wallet on my online computer.

Is this possible? I couldn't find any easy tutorials to do this.

Thanks!

I feel like there is a real crisis here with Civics in the industry, where there is no nice way to say it there are two major issues that are no being understood

-constitutional law

-low level network architecture and traffic and transmission on decentralized apps *and wallets

You really cannot mount a defense in federal or supreme court while getting these wrong, and I truly believe the "social layer" of corporations governing eth and bitcoin has a vested interest in getting it wrong.

What this boils down to is selectively cherry picking *which* code is protected by the 1st amendment. You must have broad first principles encompassing coverage.

In order to have a robust broad constitutional defense of monero nodes and monero wallets, you cannot throw other chains wallets and nodes under the bus, but it is even worse than that, you cannot throw *their dapps* under the bus.

Throughout the crypto ecosystem there are central servers with non-custodial mechanisms for any variety of purpose, they should still be protected by the first amendment, but they are indeed easier to litigate.

Most of the hiccups in the system will be gone soon--all of the Dapps in crypto will be fully serverless and hostless, because of IPFS, ENS, s5, Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks that split up serverless function computation.

Domains won't be seizable. Now the federal government still wants to felonize and indict IPFS participant, but it is a lot harder, the much lower hanging fruit are bridging components between chains, and the validators on side chains themselves.

I fully expect extreme crackdowns on eth and bitcoin layer two validators, this endangers the constitutional protections for layer one nodes, this is weasel orwell language, and constitutional law doesn't work in this cherry picked fashion, this is how the atf thinks.

Indicting and bullying smaller sidechains is easy for the usa to do, but it is dangerous to constitutional law. In particular I am worried that the erosion of protections will make it extremely dangerous to build applications that do atomic dex swaps to monero, any future suits on atomic swap applications will gut the very basis of "code is speech".

The Treasury, State Department, and Department of Justice have made it exceedingly clear they do not believe code is speech, and are talking about putting mandatory KYC on cloud providers --something else very dangerous to legal protections for layer one nodes.

Ask ever single merchant: "Do you accept Monero?" 99,9% will say no, but they might be intrigued to look it up after they get a few requests.

In my experience, don't push it with offering stickers, as this can seem a bit pushy/commercial to them and may cause aversion.

Even without coinjoins, Wasabi’s client-side filtering architecture, Tor integration and custom coin selection make it the most private light wallet available. However, the nature of the bitcoin blockchain prevents users from obtaining complete privacy without coinjoins.”

Just a little announcement to say that Pixeldrain (a file sharing website) now accepts Monero for its prepaid subscription option. Minimum deposit is $10.

I’m not paid or anything, it’s just a website that I like that is developed by a solo developer (+ they open sourced a big part of the website). After begging for some time they accepted and added Monero to their BTCPay server.

Another flood attack? Or the original spammer consolidating the funds?

Mempool is flooded with 150/2 transactions (about 100+ kB each). A only a couple of them is filling up entire blocks.

Interestingly, the "spammer" is paying 20 um/kB fee. However, these transactions are getting verified faster (for profitability reasons).

edit: These "big" spam txs are currently in the mempool (at the time of writing this). Tx verification will be slow for general users. This is an excellent stress test for the dynamic block size.

edit (Thu May 02 08:24:46 2024 UTC): the mempool is now flooeded with both 1/2 and 150/2 transactions. so, maybe consolidating the funds and restarting the spam?

edit (Thu May 02 08:59:50 2024 UTC): the later 150/2 txs are paying 82 um/kB fee. The attacker probably forgot to manually set fee rather than let the wallet software set it automatically :)

edit (Thu May 02 09:04:53 2024 UTC): There are floods of smaller txs paying 82 um/kB, probably the same "spammer"

edit (Thu May 02 12:56:02 2024 UTC): The oldest txs in mempool is 7.5 hours old. There are also some new mid-weight (20-50 in, 2 out) transactions. If you want to check out for yourselves, go to tx.town or

edit (Thu May 02 13:05:39 2024 UTC): There's also an uptick of 1/2 (1000+ in mempool atm) and 2/2 (450+ atm) txs. Theory: the spammer consolidating the funds with big txs, then spamming again with 1/2 txs.

edit (Thu May 02 14:07:27 2024 UTC): Mempool count is currently 1987 (17709.66 kB), whereas it was around 80+ MB when the big txs first appeared. 1/2 tx count exceeds 1200, 2/2 is 400+. There seems to be a variety of fee rate, meaning the updated wallets (v0.18.3.3) are increasing the fees automatically.

Well…he releases “Hijacking Bitcoin” in early April, and points to direct Government corruption regarding “John Dillon” in chapter 12, highlights connections between the Bitcoin Core devs, Blockstream, and the Bilderberg Group in chapter 13…

…and by the end of the month he’s arrested in an outlandish way.

Coincidence? 🤔 I don’t think so.

Original Title: This affects most p2p infrastructure on the internet, Monero would still work, but very very little else. Language involved in numerous bills & proposals is extremely unpromising, Coincenter agrees that FOSS criminal indemnity is at stake.

Ugh reddit is just such an unhelpful difficult site to write anything on to compared to twitter, it ruined my formatting.

This post is about describing *all* of the p2p infrastructure used for DeFi on bitcoin and ethereum and siacoin to explain node network archtecture. I want you all to read and understand the network traffic involved and understand that no component of this is custodial, because that is what the DoJ is claiming about Tornado and Samura*, and that is what* the Treasury and IRS are claiming about Uniswap, the language in the two indictments, and the other two agency Proposals is clearly an attack on criminal indemnity for FOSS, they are using criminal enforcement as regulation, in the words of CoinCenter, to get what they want by vastly expanding the definition of server in federal court. This is outright perjury, and I want the monero community to understand the network traffic architecture involved in IPFS and layer 2 solutions on bitcoin in particular with regard to Samurai's coordination server, so you understand this is in fact perjury that is be planned by federal prosecutors.

The Whirlpool coordinator is a blinded server that critically can't know the contents of the massages it passes. Users collaboratively make self-transfers. Samourai never accepted nor transferred bitcoin & they aren't money transmitters, similar to SWIFT:

While SWIFT’s tools are often used to move substantial amounts of money in violation of sanctions, and while SWIFT voluntarily cooperates with ongoing investigations into the use of their messaging protocol for sanctions evasion,24 they are, nonetheless, at pains to stress that they are not an obligated entity under sanctions laws: Responsibility for ensuring that individual financial transactions comply with sanctions laws … rests with the financial institutions handling them, and their competent authorities. Swift is only a messaging service provider and has no involvement in or control over the underlying financial transactions that are mentioned by its financial institutional customers in their messages.25 SWIFT has, in fact, far more control over the messages that they relay than the Tornado Cash developers have over any Tornado Cash messages. Unlike the Tornado Cash protocol, SWIFT

The questions you've raised touch on some innovative ideas about how Layer 2 solutions on the Bitcoin network, such as Mercury or similar technologies, could potentially evolve to become more decentralized using technologies like Distributed Hash Tables (DHT) and InterPlanetary File System (IPFS). Let's address each concept step by step.

  1. Blind Signing Delegated to Client-Side Nodes ===============================================

Transferring the responsibility of blind signing to client-side nodes instead of a centralized backend server could increase decentralization. This would involve a shift from a single signing authority to a distributed network of nodes, each capable of performing signing operations. This setup could potentially enhance security and trustlessness by eliminating single points of failure. However, this approach would require robust mechanisms to ensure that these nodes operate reliably and securely without compromising the private keys used for signing.

[Cross posted to MoneroMarket]

Hey, everyone! So, I’m still getting Monero orders occasionally without working email addresses. To complete your order and ship your products, I need to communicate with you via working email.

It can be a throw-away, and if you would like, you can always send me your public key and I can do things encrypted. Additionally, I manually remove all information for Monero orders after 30 days.

So, to recap: When you place an order, I do NOT need an actual mailing address or phone number, but I DO need a working email address to communicate with you off-site (e.g., shipping address and payment QR/link). Send me your public key and we can communicate that way. All of my emails include my public key as an attachment for you to use.

Thanks again for all the support! Let’s continue to build the Monero community!

And, as a reminder, I only offer the discounts to Monero community members. Use “Monero10” for a 10% discount.

Thanks again!

https://christopherlawrence.us

Also, people tend to create a bunch of fake transactions when I post to Monero forums. Ladies and Gents, please do not do this, as it messes with the ordering system and may eventually cause me to pull acceptance of Monero if it gets really bad. Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I’ll add a section at the top to explain Monero orders.

UPDATE: Monero section added. LMK if that is clear enough to understand. Thanks in advance!

This feels like a huge moment right now.

Also, what do you think about this guy’s take on where this is all going regarding Monero?

Is Monero a honeypot that will be the next target after Samourai Wallet?

It feels like the Totalitarian Globalist Dragon is making a significant MOVE right now. I think it’s important to keep your eyes peeled. 👀

I predict full CBDC implementation by 2025.
