To keep it short I used atomic monero to do an eth to xmr swap, after 3 tries I was able to get the eth to send but the xmr never arrived, has anyone else had this experience, did I get scammed?

Update: after over 8 hours I recieved my xmr, according to Google xmr atomic swaps can take hours or even days

Consensus has been reached at today's website meeting, and a new website is on the way! It will be designed by Diego Salazar (the same designer as the current website) and will be implemented using the Astro JavaScript framework.

You heard that right. The new website will not use Jekyll, but Astro, a wonderful framework written in JavaScript, primarily meant to be used as a static site generator. Obviously, that means it will not ship any JavaScript and will be compatible with our fellow Tor users at the safest level.

A rough prototype of the current getmonero.org website ported to Astro can be found here:

As someone who loved LocalMonero, I've been waiting for a capable Peer-Peer alternative. And Here it is. Making the first trade is kind of exhilarating. Felt the same awe and dopamine as sending my first XMR.

And the robustness of the platform means that it is free to grow and develop without fear of suppression.

I'm so happy to be a part of this community in what I consider to be its early childhood stage. Bright future ahead not only for Haveno, but the broad Monero movement as well.

I find that this is the easiest. KYC is a PITA. Cake is expensive. Bisq is complicated. Is f2f a common thing?

How do you buy xmr?

BTW - I am in Los Angeles if anybody here wants to offload their xmr.

Available here:

I randomly sampled 100,000 Monero transactions between blocks 2.75 million and 3.25 million and recorded the age of each decoy. I then fitted a lognormal distribution to this data and used its parameters to generate new wait times. While the distributions are not perfectly aligned, they are very close.

The way it works is as follows: after receiving Monero, you would use the Monero Churn Timer to generate a random wait time. You would then set a reminder to "churn" (i.e., send that transaction to yourself at a new address) after the specified time. If necessary, you could repeat this process.

Disclaimer: Churning could potentially make your transactions more identifiable, rather than more private, especially if you are not sampling from the full empirical distribution across all relevant factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, the number of inputs and outputs, the time of day, and other aspects such as whether you are using a remote node. Mismanaging these variables may increase the risk of transaction fingerprinting.

Some of you may remember a Reddit post announcing Librejo. Well, it has been deleted by the Reddit gods.

Librejo is a Forgejo instance focused on Monero that fulfills the goal of acting as an archive for all related projects.

Any user in the Monero community is free to use Librejo for hosting their code or creating pull mirrors. You can sign in with a Librejo account or directly with your GitHub account.

Librejo is actually running on the latest version of Forgejo and will keep updating. Some features, like Actions and Federation, will be supported when they become stable. Finally, if there's a project worth adding to the instance, but you don't want to create a Librejo account, just post the link below and I'll add a pull mirror.

Hi guys,

I finally wanted to install haveno.

First step: check out git.

First problem: No install info at all.

I mean almost every software uploaded to GitHub has a install info.

What happened here? I can only see:

What is haveno? Status of the project Keep in touch Contribute Bounties Sponsorship

I would like to install it but there is no setup description at all.

I'm very disappointed... How do the developers think people will use it?

This is the cheapest way to buy Monero in Australia that I have found. Use OSKO or PayID to do a bank transfer to CoinSpot ($0 fees). In Coinspot go to Markets, then place a buy order order for USDT/AUD (0.1% fees). Transfer the UDST to MEXC via Polygon network or AVAX network ($0.11 withdrawl fees). Use USDT to buy XMR at MEXC (0.02% fees). Withdraw the Monero out to your self-hosted wallet ($0.015 withdrawl fees). Now the only thing this doesn't account for is the price difference between exchanges (in my testing it was only like 10 cents higher). The total theoretical fees are given by the following table:

| Deposit Amount (USD) | Fee (USD) | Fee (PCT) | Value After Conversion (USD) | |

|

|

|

| | 10 | 0.14 | 1.4% | 9.86 | | 25 | 0.15 | 0.6% | 24.85 | | 50 | 0.18 | 0.4% | 49.82 | | 100 | 0.24 | 0.2% | 99.76 | | 200 | 0.36 | 0.2% | 199.64 | | 300 | 0.48 | 0.2% | 299.52 | | 400 | 0.60 | 0.2% | 399.40 | | 500 | 0.72 | 0.1% | 499.28 | | 600 | 0.84 | 0.1% | 599.16 | | 700 | 0.96 | 0.1% | 699.04 | | 800 | 1.08 | 0.1% | 798.92 | | 900 | 1.20 | 0.1% | 898.80 | | 1000 | 1.32 | 0.1% | 998.68 |

Bit2Me regularly reviews the cryptocurrencies listed on the platform. Based on the latest reviews due to a regulatory change, we have decided to delist Monero (XMR) on October 31, 2024, at 11:00 UTC.

Starting from October 24 at 15:00 UTC, it will no longer be possible to buy, trade, or deposit Monero (XMR) on Bit2Me.

Users will still be able to sell their XMR until October 31 at 15:00 UTC. Withdrawals will remain available until further notice from the Bit2Me team.

Say someone bought crypto on a KYC exchange and wanted to get their name off the funds, could they simply swap for monero then back to the original holdings on a new wallet or is it more complicated

So, in the little time that I have known about Haveno (learned about it 3hrs ago), Ive seen quite a few complaints on Reddit from my little research, on the ease of use and complexity of Haveno.

I'm not sure where this sentiment is coming from, but the process is incredibly easy and straightforward. If anything, being able to open an app to connect to a DEX that is using the TOR protocol with pretty much just a few mouse clicks, is down right amazing.

Ive known about and have followed Monero about a year or two after its creation. By no means was I an avid user of it, but I would buy it here and there as payment for services I use (vpn service and stuff) or to buy goods off some special markets 😉. Up until recently I used LocalMonero for most of my buying. Today I found out that it is being shut down, I was devastated. This is what brought me to Haveno.

I was able to follow the guides posted here and elsewhere and get Haveno-reto up and running on my MacBook.

I played around a bit creating buy and sell orders to see how the system worked. Took a little figuring out what everything means and how it all works, but once you get over the initial unfamiliarity, it makes sense and, honestly, is incredibly simple and intuitive for what it is.

The biggest hurdle I can see for anyone is having a little bit of XMR on hand for the security deposit for the transaction. Luckily I had a few dollars worth of Monero sitting in a wallet that I used to pay for the deposit. I initiated the transaction, waited a bit, and sent the payment. Payment was received and the transaction was compelete. Took about 2mins from me sending the payment to receiving the confirmation. Got the Monero into my account and sent over to my external wallet shortly after.

All in all going from discovering the death of LocalMonero to buying Monero on Haveno, was about 2 hours, while being stoned.

If my dumbass can figure it out, so can most anybody. I understand that that these days one click proprietary apps that do everything without you ever having to touch the command line and simple website interfaces on a centralized KYC Exchange are the norm, but the freedom and anonymity that a DEX + Monero provides, requires only a modicum of extra effort than using the aforementioned services.

Anyways, thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

Reddit have banned a lot of users for using network anonymization services. It's been months that r/monero haven't received any up to date informations on Seraphis, FCMP, FCMP++, more recently JamtisRCT and Carrot. Even CCSs.

If you want to learn more about whats going on, you should make a matrix account (whatever instance you want) or an IRC libera account and join the channels. You can also follow meetings logs on github.

Edit: Getmonero.org's guide on how to join monero matrix channels: (Warning: monero.social instance have disabled registration so you should have a look at )

If you are too lazy to do so then ask your questions in comment and I'll try to see if it has been discussed in the channels.

This is a short guide to install "Haveno Reto" debian package on Tails:

Step by step instruction after you already have a Tails USB.

  1. Enable persistence
  2. Set up administration password
  3. Activate dotfiles in persistent storage settings
  4. Run the following command in the terminal to download and execute the script from the "Haveno Reto" repository. Enter the administration password you have setup when requested

 curl -x socks5h://127.0.0.1:9050 -fsSLO
 https://github.com/haveno-dex/haveno/raw/master/scripts/install_tails/haveno-install.sh
 && bash haveno-install.sh
 https://github.com/retoaccess1/haveno-reto/releases/download/v1.0.12/haveno-linux-deb.zip
 DAA24D878B8D36C90120A897CA02DAC12DAE2D0F

You can then start Haveno by finding the icon in the launcher under "Applications" > "Other". It should connect and synchronize with both the Haveno Reto and the Monero network.

Check your configuration:

  1. reboot Tails
  2. enable persistence and admin mode again
  3. launch Haveno and confirm you can access your account

Haveno Reto public signing key of fingerprint above.

Monero devs hunted down hundreds of malicious node IPs this week-end and made a list of them available at

These malicious nodes could potentially reveal the IP adress of the monero node from which originated a user transaction. Some of the IPs have been linked to the Linking Lion infrastructure. They're all presumably from chainanalysis even though nothing is confirmed at this point.

If you are running a node, you may want to save this list in a file and point to that file in the monerod startup command line with the argument --ban-list filename

This will ban all these malicious IPs on your node, so it doesn't communicate with them and keeps them outside the network.

You might also want to look at the --tx-proxy and --anonymous-inbound flags.

Hey XMR fans, wanted to introduce a new XMR-based service, BetGlide.net, where you can bet on sports and more. Inspired by similar projects, we wanted to make an XMR sportsbook that was more full-featured, including point spreads, over/under, and parlays.

We also have added a simple dice game.

Help support the XMR ecosystem by doing your betting on a site that performs all of its transactions on the Monero network! We offer a range of events, and have an event request form for people who dont see an event that they would like to bet on.

Thanks everyone :) I'll be around for a bit to answer any questions you may have.

UPDATE: Unfortunately we had to stop offering the free 0.05 XMR on signup, because it only took 20 minutes for someone to try and turn it into an infinite money glitch 🤣 However we are happy to match any deposit of that amount.

UPDATE 2: It says this post has 5+ comments, but for some reason I cant see any of them. So until I can, feel free to DM me with any questions that you would like answered.
