The app I want to launch is Borderless Gaming. I don't play games that require it very often. So, I don't want to have to set it to launch when the PC starts. I found via this article that the way to launch steam apps via command line would be like this: steam://run/, so I came up with: steam://run/388080.

Adding steam://run/388080 %COMMAND% to the launch options of the game launched Borderless Gaming and then the game looked like it was going to open but it just crashed. Am I missing something?

edit: I am on Windows by the way.

I've had a weird issue with Steam lately.

Whenever I go to download a game on my pc, it will download fine, but I will lose internet for everything else on my network until the download is complete or I stop the download.

At first I thought this might be an issue with my ISP, but this doesn't happen when downloading a game from my Steamdeck.

Anyone have any fixes for this?

Here is a speedtest if this helps at all: https://www.speedtest.net/result/15012239449

to use it, install Tampermonkey, or another userscript manager, and click here to open a prompt to install.

I used to be able to use my joystick buttons on a lot of games but now steam won't detect them. Windows detects the buttons but steam won't. Is there any way around this?

I’m moving my posts from Reddit to Lemmy before delete them. Also sorry about repost for people who already saw this but I had to migrate to a different instance since I couldn’t create new posts with the previous one.

This post is from 2021-11-17.

My partner and I are sharing our libraries with each other on both the Steam Deck and our desktop PCs, but the list of actually borrowed games constitutes only a fraction of our complete libraries. I would expect all (non-F2P) games to show up under either borrowed or excluded.

From searching around, it seems to be a recurring problem for various people, and it either spontaneously fixes itself or after deauthorising and reauthorising (some reporting they had to clear Steam's cache - which is the only thing I haven't tried yet because that would be a massive inconvenience). But I'm not finding a lot of solutions or answers to what the deal is.

Has anyone else dealt with this?

Edit: it looks as if the listed "borrowed" games are only those that have been actually played at some point, so it's possible the list isn't meant to be exhaustive. Doesn't explain the missing majority of games however.

Edit 2: I don't know if it was always the problem, but I just realised I had "show only ready to play games" selected, which obviously excludes all uninstalled games. I noticed because I tried downloading a game through the other account to see if that changed anything, and indeed it showed up. Mystery solved, hopefully.

(In a petty attempt at salvaging some dignity I want to add that I've had the problem of shared games not showing up before and I could swear this was not the problem...)

This is from the Categories portion of the Steam home page. Flabergasted me and I had to snip it.

Do I just completely misunderstand what a Rogue-Like is?

The summer sale is well underway--what have you gotten that you're most excited about?

I know I'm late to the party, but for me it's Skyrim special edition. I played the base game when it came out on Xbox, but never since then. I'm looking forward to giving it a replay and all the new (to me) dlc.

Hi,

Like a lot of people I'm new to Lemmy and just wondered what people thought of promoting/advertising your own game on here. I like it here for its clean / focused content and understand if people are against it as it feels a little cheeky/cheap.
