I'm pretty confused about one thing.

When deleting your own comment, there always stays a placeholder in its place. I noticed this with my own and other lemmings posts.

So far so good, but i tried to reply to a deleted comment by another lemming and above the reply box was the full comment the other user deleted.

I mean the full content of the comment that was deleted.

Is this the normal behavior in Lemmy or is it Sync?

I mean, i want my deleted comments to disappear and not just hidden and for everyone available to read.

Please try it out and reply to my deleted comment in this post. Just above the reply textarea you'll see my deleted comment.

How to show two instances I have subscribed to showing only Subreddits i have subscribed lemmy.world and lemmy.dbzer0 ??

I just noticed this, apologies if this is an old change, but the up vote / down vote colors seem to have swapped.

Do I need to log out? then log back in? I don't want to. But if logging out/in is necessary to refresh my filter settings, I will. I searched for a way to log out/ in but I can't find it, but I will look harder if I need to. Let me know, or anything else I need to do to stop seeing Trump posts. Thanks.

Sync users, in my comment linked above when you tap the second image does it pull up the right one? For me it's about 50/50 whether it will.

This is a bug I noticed a while ago but didn't have any reference examples until now.

This old thing that sometimes happened in Sync for Reddit seems to happen again here, where comments are always indented even to the point of not rendering correctly because they reached the right border. If I'm remembering correctly, this was fixed by giving the user the option to "Load more comments" in the old app, which opened a new screen starting back at the left border. Can we get something like that again?

[BUG] Navigating to a comment crashes

Trying to go to one of my comments from my user profile reliably crashes.

No specifics required

Scenario (steps to reproduce)

1. Go to user profile
2. Tap a comment

Result(s) App crashes.

I enjoy NSFW when seeking it out, but I don't like being bombarded with every NSFW post in the lemmyverse at all times.

In the settings I only see all on or all off.

In the old sync I remember there being an option to hide NSFW on the main pages, but to show them when you go to a specific sub, I'd like that again.

I by default have hide read and mark read on scroll and browse new. Sometimes a post that I want to go back to gets marked as read, and it seems the only way to show the posts again is to dig through the settings and disable hide read. In the action bar, there's a hide read option. Is there any way to put a show read as well, or have the hide toggle depending on whether read posts are being hidden or not?

The amount and type of ads is just too much to handle.

White border fast paced ads on top of every comment section and every ~20 Posts is just too much ..

Syncs business model is not acceptable for me.

I wanted to buy sync adfree but 18€ is just too much.

I will switch to an open source alternative.

Despite removing comments hours previously, I'm getting complaints from sync users that they're still seeing the spam bots that have plagued the lemmy today.

This leads me to believe that sync for lemmy fails to handle federated comment removals (note: some instances, those running kbin or mbin don't handle them at all)

Can this be added to ensure that when a mod removes a comment, the comment isn't seen by sync users?

Been noticing a spammer who set up their own instance and can't see a fast way to just block the whole instance, either from the user menu, or from navigating to the instance. I may just be missing it.

Is there a setting to hide posts that have been deleted or removed?

I don't see any posts on ! technology@beehaw.org when browsing from this account on Sync. But, if I visit it from apps like voyager, boost they load fine.

Might be a dumb question, but I'll ask it anyway... Would it be possible for the app to always show .jpg pictures instead of .webp? If I remeber correctly, if you upload a .jpg or .png file, Lemmy converts it to .webp. Can this be reversed in Sync?

If it's at all possible. I just find it kind of annoying to have to scroll through super long posts just to get to the comments. Review threads for newly released games in some of the gaming communities are what prompted this idea lol.

Edit: what the hell is going on with that account that keeps spamming nonsense?

I was reading the comments on a post on 196 and ran into a bunch of spam comments. I was surprised the mods hadn't deleted them when I realized they all had a trash can icons on them. I'm thinking Sync is showing me comments that have been deleted. Is there a way to change this in the settings?

The old inbox had vote buttons on the comments. That was really useful. Could these be added to the new view as well?
