Apparently “nowdays” isn’t a word.
Quite often seen with spaces or hyphens.
As an aside I saw 'check, mate' today.
That seems fine to me. I've heard "check and mate" a bunch, so this isn't too much of a stretch for me.
They clearly meant checkmate though.
Well OP clearly meant nowadays whenever they said "nowdays", too.
