I have a beginner question. If I install Ubuntu on my laptop in English. Will I be able to later change the language ? Or does it require a reinstallation?
I want to install Linux on an older laptop for my parent in law. They do not speak English and I do not speak their language well.
Since you are this new of a user linux mint might be better for you... Or even Fedora because it's less resource intensive especially the Cosmic version https://fedoraproject.org/spins/cosmic
In addition Mint comes with it's app store which is Flatpak based unlike Ubuntu s which is Snap based, flatpak is faster and just better. (Fedora might have one too but idk never tried it) Also a very good browser for linux is Firedragon i recommend giving it a try :)
