I don't have any kindle books to try it myself, but don't people use the DeDRM plugin for Calibre for that?
The latest DeDRM uses a key from the installed version of the Kindle program, which is for Windows. I think you can use a key from the Android or Amazon tablet versions too, but I've never been able to get it to accept those keys
Ah, thats annoying.
Yeah I'd probably just grab a clean version somewhere myself. Or if its not available, an extremely short-lived VM just to get that key going.
