That's how I store the one I keep in my nightstand overnight for self defense. That's also how I carry it. Not gonna do me much good if it's not ready to fire.
And that's why so many people die from guns in america. More often than not, your family/friend instead of an actual menace.

Idk what you mean. The statistics back me up. Accidents are less than 1%.
For fatal gun injuries you're right, but about 50% of all non fatal gun injuries are caused unintentionally. There seems to be about 43k unintentional gun injuries per year(source). In comparison in total there are 47k gun deaths per year.
So yeah not negligible in the slightest, especially in a country without healthcare.

This is has been true for a long time and is true currently, but the door to door federal nazi raids have only just started
