No the artist just lay down with fruit, took a photo and painted results. There's another version with her sister.
No, not literally. The color balance of the skin tones does not imply life. Also, there is absolutely no fucking way they "just la[id] down with fruit, took a photo and painted results". Ain't no citrus on that scale my friend.
They look about the right size for grapefruits, so it's possible.
What do you mean? The one at her feet is twice the size of her head!
Oh yeah, I think it's a mixture of different melons. She does paint cross section of different fruits and makes them large and small. Maybe it's intentional.
