Is there a certain morbidity to the Spanish culture my high school Spanish teacher chose to leave out or something?

Edit: Also, my Spanish is kinda rusty at this point but couldn't this also be interpreted as "Everyone exists only to die"?

No. "Everyone exists only to die" is like this: "Todos existen solo para morir."

The fully translation of image of OP is fully correct. Im not spanish tho, but I understand some things.

Fair enough and thanks for the answer. My Spanish is so far gone that conjugations are nothing but a pipe dream at this point so I can get approximations of sentences but that's about it.
