MODERATORS
Boatloads of cash at a young age, family and friends wanting and pestering, the physical toll the game takes on your body for years, the stress of being a taking point of the sport worldwide, and having to be on your A-game mentally, physically, and emotionally 24/7 for your entire career. Yeah... no thanks. Hell, I didn't grow up until I was 27. I get stressed wondering if the dinner I'm cooking will turn out ok.
I hope he takes all the time he needs to get himself where he wants to be... even if that means retirement. I'm surprised that more super-duper NBA stars don't retire even before they start to decline. I mean after 5-6 years or so. How much more do you need when you're already set?
More like injuries and his mothers passing, in his case. But yeah, players are too young to endure that kind of pressure. Ricky was playing pros at 14. He was projected for a generational career and couldn't make it but in any case he had a great one. I hope he can recover and still show up, he is always an interesting player to watch.
