I think pirating from smaller ISPs is advantageous. Simply because a lot of the staff could not be as tech savvy to understand what you're downloading.

Big ISPs, it's a little harder but challenging and possible, because they know what to expect.

I dont know what to think, really.

The Dekaif channel has 434 videos, but YouTube is only showing 275 to clients, whether logged in or not, whether yt-dlp or official access.

This isn't the first channel I've witnessed this, and weirder stuff, on. Another example is this video - "Belt" meme - it is accessible on Grayjay, yet not on YouTube, meaning (I think) that publicly shared videos are being deindexed, and yet they are still hosted.

You used to be able to take the video code from the URL (everything after '?v=' and before '&') and get the exact video in search results. Not now. The second YouTuber, Sparky, has 35 uploads, only 9 of which are visible. And I can attest that at least one of the remaining 26 is hosted, but invisible. I don't even know how it came up using Grayjay but not YouTube or Revanced.

Basically, there's a TON of shady underhanded shit happening at YTHQ and everyone needs to jump ship to Odysee or some platform that won't be clogged with AI. This is bad for everyone.

I'm posting it here mainly because I verified my findings with yt-dlp, and this new bs is successfully thwarting my attempts to archive.

I was a regular Plex user, until they had their mental breakdown recently. So I switched to jellyfin. I have only two problems with jellyfin so far. One of them is subtitles (the other is the "remote controller" doesn't always sync properly).

Plex had an integrated subtitle downloader. You could just start a show, see that it was lacking subtitles and Plex could isntantly download subtitles for you. That doesn't seem to work in Jellyfin.

Is there an option or a plugin somewhere that can do/fix this for jellyfin?

I find it's flakey at best. Non functional at worst. I regularly have to disconnect then reconnect my VPN to get it to work. then the torrentio plugin will just uninstall constantly. Half the time it doesn't even find any results. I'm considering going back to a home server if this stupid thing doesn't work. Anyways, any alternatives? I saw that popcorn time seems to be legit now, so that's out.

TIA.

Hey there! I’m looking to pirate sports and streaming services that I can’t afford. Could you please explain in simple terms of how to do this on an iPhone, iMac, iPad, and Apple TV? I’m really exhausted and my brain is blank. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Earlier this month we noted how Disney and ESPN had sued Sling TV for the cardinal sin of actually trying to innovate. Sling TV’s offense: releasing new, more convenient day, weekend, or week-long shorter term streaming subscriptions that provided an affordable way to watch live television.

These mini-subscriptions, starting at around $5, have already proven to be pretty popular. But, of course, it challenges the traditional cable TV model of getting folks locked into recurring (and expensive) monthly subscriptions. Subscriptions that often mandate that you include sports programming many people simply don’t want to pay for.

So of course Time Warner has now filed a second lawsuit (sealed, 1:25-mc-00381) accusing Dish Network of breach of contract. In the complaint, Warner Bros lawyer David Yohai argues that this kind of convenience simply cannot be allowed:

“The passes fundamentally disrupt this industry-standard model by allowing customers to purchase access to the most sought-after programming, such as major sports events, essentially a la carte for a fraction of the cost that the consumer would have had to pay to watch the event on a pay-per-view basis. For example, a sports fan could simply purchase a day pass and watch select programming, such as a highly popular sports game, without purchasing a month-long subscription or paying a higher pay-per-view fee.”

Not disruption and convenience!

I find myself downloading a lot of movies that are dubbed in latino Spanish. I've checked fmhy torrents, but unfortunately, there just isn't a lot of latino Spanish content available on torrents.

(Yes, there is a lot of Spanish Spanish content... but... meehhh...)

However, I have had better luck with fmhy streaming. It's not the best quality, 720p or 1080p if I'm lucky. But it's better than nothing.

I was recently wondering, how does dubbing actually work? Is there a video difference between English and Spanish movies? Or is there just literally an audio track being swapped out?

Could I take an audio track from a 720p stream and add it to a 4K torrented movie file and expect the audio and video to line up?

It's reported that the Google Play store entry of Eden emulator (a Switch emulator) is no longer available. We don't know the reason, but my educated guess is that Nintendo might have striked. I recommend to download current official clean builds and source code for backup, just in case you want to use it later.

I personally still use last official build of Yuzu, even today (playing Tears of the Kingdom). I never tried Eden, but it might be useful to archive it, so I do not need to download builds of others if I can't build it from source for any reason.

Here is a random article about this subject: https://www.androidauthority.com/play-store-first-nintendo-switch-emulator-3597451/

Spotify Mod (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

Guys, now that Spotify's Premium mod has been down for about two months, and since Xmanager and Revanced have received a copyright notice, it's hard for me to believe that there could be a functional mod version, at least on the visible part of the internet. Does anyone know of a version that works for free and is malware-free?"

I want to pirate high bit-rate music (>=256 kbps) but I'm unable to find a source. ThePirateBay and 4kVideoDownloader won't work. YT Vanced doesn't go higher than 128 kbps.

One thing I’ve run into as I’ve been playing some of my retro games is that, when using a controller with an Nvidia Shield + Moonlight or even with just a Steam Deck, the emulators often have a massive amount of controls that I can’t really interact with. All of the controls are hotkey based, for save states, loading states, etc.

Most of the games I’m wanting to play are controller based, but it feels like the tools to enjoy them are all keyboard based. Do you just use the built in save functionalities? How does it all work?

The legal battle between game developer Bungie and cheat seller AimJunkies is over. A stipulated dismissal filed at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals effectively marks the end of the case, one notable for a first-ever verdict holding a cheat maker liable for copyright infringement. Comments shared with TorrentFreak suggest that AimJunkies takes full responsibility.

Ive seen that there are software you can download on web archive (archive.org), but it isnt listed in the megathread.

Should I suppose that it is as safe as it is downloading random stuff from the internet?

Downloading drm streams (lemmy.blahaj.zone)

Hello, my school hosts lectures on SharePoint, however, these lectures are view only and the stream data is drm locked. Are there any tools to download drm locked content or SharePoint videos? yt-dlp says it's drm locked, and ffmpeg says it's malformed. I tried looking through the megathread but mostly found things to find content, not download it.

IPTV discussions? (sh.itjust.works)

Hi, I've got dispatcharr running behind a VPN with free iptv feeds and have it at the point I think I'm comfortable subscribing to a provider. Where is the best place to talk about and get real experiences with different ones? All I see are what look like SEO optimized scams trying to sell providers, half the time look fake anyway. Thanks
