!cool_rocks@lemmy.today

Imagine my surprise when I wanted to share a cool rock, only to find the geology coms dead and no other options.

You don't need to know anything about rocks to share and discuss cool rocks. You don't even need to post your own rocks, but it's encouraged.

Have rocks to share? Want more rocks in your feed? Then come on down to Cool Rocks.

Canadian Independent News (sh.itjust.works)

!indy_news_canada@sh.itjust.works

I already have three communities, why not one more? I like the Canadian news feeds here, but I'm not a fan of the larger, corporate media outlets.

Since I already collate indy news for !Independent_Media@lemmy.today and regular news for !wildfeed@sh.itjust.works — it was easy to make an offshoot for Canadian journalism.

It's not just for Canadians, world news is encouraged as long as the publication is based in Canada.

Oh, and I'm looking for one other mod, preferably from a different instance. You probably won't have to do anything, the rules are chill and the communities are still small. You can even check the modlogs of my other communities to see it's mostly me accidentally locking and unlocking posts. I'd like to have someone else just in case I'm not available or my instances go down.

!ocpoetry@piefed.social - For Original Poetry

I know there's already one, but I'll say, the more the merrier.

Also idk why Lemmy Federate doesn't work for some instances like lemmy.world, can't see any of my posts from there due to 0 local subscribers. 🤔 (should have like 4 posts)

So... anyways... it's just a place where I vent about stuff... in a... sort of... poetic way... idk where else to even post it and I don't wanna support reddit, so here... feel free to read, critique... turn your thoughts into a poem... or just ignore... lol

!madeineurope@lemmy.zip: A community dedicated to talking about, discovering, flaunting and discussing consumer products that are made in Europe by European companies.

I created this community because the most popular communities like !buyeuropean@feddit.uk, !BuyFromEU@europe.pub or !buyfromeu@feddit.org are overrun by news articles about European governmental policies, trade deals, fighter jet purchases or tech news. These kinds of posts are banned from !madeineurope@lemmy.zip. I want to see your cool socks, clothes, hot sauces, slippers or kitchen equipment made right here in Europe. The more local, niche, artisanal, environmentally friendly and socially responsible, the better.

Hope to see you there!

Hi there,

I currently post content all over the fediverse, and had requests to centralize it in one place.

From now on, I'll be posting content from thebad.website to the following communities (and also keep posting it in the usual places):

!thebadwebsite@lemmy.world (english version)

!lemauvaissite@jlai.lu (french version)

If you enjoy this silly content, love you, you're the best.

If you don't enjoy it, have a nice day and a beautiful life.

I made a new community for low-end computer gamers that are struggling or just want to chat about gaming. I'm new to lemmy so i hope I share the link the correct way. I made the community because I felt like it was needed and i was bored.

We have created an unofficial community for the !roblox@lemmy.world stealth game Entry Point, a game in which you can take items and escort antagonists stealthily or loudly under missions

Moderator (and ex-owner takeover) requests are open to everyone

For !EntryPoint@lemmy.fmhy.ml you can find it on http://lemmy.world/, for !entrypoint@kbin.projectsegfau.lt you can find it on http://piefed.social/ - this community you can access it on !EntryPoint@piefed.social

The mods on former alien site community joined the June 2023 strike, had closed the community there and created one in lemmy.fmhy.ml, but in September that year the instance was shut down. Wanted to revive the community there, but that instance was already dead so this is the second time I made an community in another instance

This community is about my favourite videogame franchise ANNO.

You might know it from it's most recent releases, Anno 1800 and Anno 117.

Just hoping to cultivate a spot for any other fans of the game to share their creations, for players to share tips or ask for help, and to share content like YouTube videos or live streams. (Because I'm not going back to Reddit xD)

Please feel free to post anything related to the game at all, especially if it's screenshots of your cities!

Thank you.

Pen & Paper

!pen_and_paper@lemmy.world

https://lemmy.world/c/pen_and_paper

This community is all about using pen and paper as a deliberate choice — because handwriting helps memory, deepens learning, sharpens focus, and unlocks creativity in ways screens often can’t. Whether you’re sketching ideas, drafting a to‑do list, or mapping out a semester, the physical act of writing slows things down just enough for the thoughts to really land.

All notebook and calendar types are welcome here: plain bound notebooks, bullet journals, Filofax systems, ring‑ and disc‑bound setups, sticky notes, legal pads, or whatever you throw together.

Privacy matters. With paper you keep control as your notes aren’t tracked, used to train algorithms or so. That sense of ownership makes paper a safe place for brainstorming, personal plans, and messy drafts that you don’t want floating in the cloud.

This is a place to share practical tips, clever layouts, before‑and‑after spreads, and what you’ve learned about staying organized (or unorganized) offline. Post pictures, ask for feedback, swap templates, or just brag about a perfect page.

Come as you are: Neat planner nerds, scrapbookers, list lovers, or anyone curious about slowing down. Bring your spreads, hacks, inserts, index systems, and the little rituals that make your setup work.

Comment and Post Mitosis (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

I have created !commentmitosis@lemmy.dbzer0.com as a clone of r/commentmitosis. It is for screenshots of comments/posts that are duplicated (usually because of being accidentally posted twice, or due to lag when attempting to post). It is one of those communities that you link to in comments a lot.

New Communities

A place to post new communities all over Lemmy for discovery and promotion.

Rules

The rules for behavior are a straight carry over of Mastodon.World's rules. You can click the link but we've reposted them here in brief, as a guideline. We will continue to use the Mastodon.World rules as the master list. Over all, be nice to each other and remember this isn't a community built around debate. For the rules about formatting your posts, scroll down to number 2.

1. Follow the rules of Mastodon.world, which can be found here.

A. Provide an inclusive and supportive environment. This means if it isn't rulebreaking and we can't be supportive to them then we probably shouldn't engage.

B. No illegal content.

C. Use content warnings where appropriate. This means mark your submissions NSFW if need be.

D. No uncivil behavior. This includes, but is not limited to: Name Calling; Bullying; Trolling; Disruptive Commenting; or Personal Criticisms.

E. No Harrassment. As an example in relation to Transgender people this includes, deadnaming, misgendering, and promotion of conversion therapy. Similarly Misogyny, Misandry, and Racism are also banned here.

2. Include a community or instance title and description in your post title. - A following example of this would be New Communities - A place to post new communities or instances all over Lemmy for discovery and promotion.

3. Follow the formatting. - The formatting as included below is important for people getting universal links across Lemmy as easily as possible.

Formatting

Please include this following format in your post:

[link text](/c/community@instance.com)

This provides a link that should work across instances, but in some cases it won't

You should also include either:

!community@instance.com

or instance.com/c/community

FAQ:

Q: Why do I get a 404?

A: At least one user in an instance needs to search for a community before it gets fetched. Searching for the community will bring it into the instance and it will fetch a few of the most recent posts without comments. If a user is subscribed to a community, then all of the future posts and interactions are now in-sync.

Q: When I try to create a post, the circle just spins forever. Why is that?

A: This is a current known issue with large communities. Sometimes it does get posted, but just continues spinning, but sometimes it doesn't get posted and continues spinning. If it doesn't actually get posted, the best thing to do is try later. However, only some people seem to be having this problem at the moment.
