Starbound silk farm (media.thebrainbin.org)

It's not efficient, but I didn't need many, so I could try making something good-looking instead. =D

Silksong's Exhaust Organ bench (media.thebrainbin.org)

Removed the UI with the debug mod.

The game overall is pretty aesthetic, but this one for some reason stands out for me.

Also the very area sure does leave a strong first impression, the hazards being mainly the sheer power of the exhaustion system.

A.K.A. its in-game achievements screen.

Colors me surprised such an old game, 20 y.o. this year, and for the PS2 no less, already had achievements.

Also a bit of a tangent, but iirc, the Sky Pirate's Den was initially removed in the remaster for the sake of online achievements, but that apparently people liked it so much they managed to pressure Square into putting it back in the remaster (and imo, glad they did add it back hehe).

When moving the cursor (which I edited out), the selected sprite moves in a loop, some sprites showing interactions when selected, while others show idle animations, and completing the Sky Pirate's Den is certainly a quest for sure (some of the superbosses can be... interesting).

Never bothered much for achievements, but maybe for the sense of tangible accomplishment, the FFT/Revenant Wings-like sprites, or the game overall not being very repetitive, it was a fun one to complete. And it probably makes a good wallpaper too. e.e"

Source: Artbook from the GOG version.

Worth noting, the artbook is heavy on spoilers, so if spoilers are a problem but you still want to check it, finish Saviors of Sapphire Wings and Strange of Sword City first - they're bundled together in the modern release and the artbook covers both games.

Art that would also be used as the game's cover art.

The best resolution I could find, at Wikia/Fandom and some other places:

Video Game Art

Video games are not mere time killers. They are albums of sound, aesthetics, animation and narrative.

This community is in appreciation of that. Screenshots, fanart, animations, gameplay clips. It is all welcome here.

The one common thread should be an eye for the aesthetic. This is not a place to discuss mechanics or stats, but to show off simply the artistic, expressed through the video game medium.

  1. All rules of the parent instance apply. That is, sopuli.xyz
  2. Include the name of the game your post is associated with in the post title.
  3. If your post is fanart, include a link to the artist in post body, if you can. You may also ping @saucechan@ani.social to have it attempt to find the source for you, and provide it in a comment.
  4. MARK ANY TEXT SPOILERS, as for art, do not post content that outright spoils key moments of a games narrative. Content that can only be understood with the context of having played the game, is ok.
  5. No generative AI art.
