I always save scratch and the owl bear cub. Even on my dark urge run I can't hurt the animals. It was very cathartic finding Scratch's former trainer on the dark urge. That bitch got torn apart.
I went no-spoilers on the first run and got real confused when I heard there was a dog in the game. All subsequent runs however, Scratch is the best boy.
After 5 runs I think the only choice I have had remain consistent is crafting the Adamantine Shield in the Forge.
My Murder-Hobo Durge run took a few left turns that closed off a bunch of choices I made on my more good-aligned runs.
It's funny that the shield only has Rare rarity, that thing should be Legendary for how insanely powerful it is! If your attacker misses their first hit, it's a +4 AC shield that also protects you from crits. That and the adamantine medium armor are always my picks, they are both so much better than anything else you can make.
My first run I made the sword and I regretted it. Armors are pretty good picks, I didn't realize the shield was so good. I didn't really use them this last run, but something to think about for my next one...
