So they basically reinvented sidecars and gave it a fancy name.

But kudos to Adobe for trying to make the best of it — they made the symbol intentionally similar to the copyright symbol and the creative commons symbol and trademarked it, just in case someone does use it, then they'll have to depend on Adobe.

Gee I wonder if this will catch on. A useless standard that makes you dependent on Adobe. You know, it just might!

The symbol doesn't even mean anything but that it contains their metadata format.
