Oh sweet more body shaming

[-] Default_Defect@anarchist.nexus 4 points 1 week ago

No, you don't understand. Body shaming is good when its men. /s

[-] CatsPajamas@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 week ago

I just figured this might actually work on a certain kind of guy. No slight meant towards the small peened

[-] Feyd@programming.dev 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I understand it's not necessarily meant as an offense to any applicable person by the person saying/wearing it, but it is nevertheless perpetuating the social problem of shaming people for characteristics they have no control over.

I keep seeing this argument and I don't buy it. You can use assholes' insecurities against them. It's ok.

[-] Feyd@programming.dev 0 points 1 week ago

If you completely lack the ability to empathize with other people or understand that communication doesn't only get seen by whoever you're directly targeting you can think that, I guess.

[-] TrickDacy@lemmy.world -1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

You're right. I'm a monster and I love to eat babies. I mean 100% lack of empathy. None whatsoever. It's definitely not that you're policing people's language to the point that they don't give a fuck anymore.

[-] Feyd@programming.dev 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

It's either the lack of empathy or that you're for some reason so attached to disparaging people's bodies you refuse to listen to simple logic. The concepts are really not that hard.

The hyperboly really doesn't help your case.

Someone telling me I have no empathy on the internet doesn't really make any difference in anything, other than I kinda think they're a judgy douche. Your point falls completely flat when you make the absolutely baseless judgement. I don't care. Blocking you now.

I don't think so. I think that presupposes that there is something bad about having a small dick. This is to mock people who think that there's something bad about having a small dick, who there's a good chance watch Fox News, as well-adjusted people don't really think that. But maybe I'm wrong! I'll think on it. Thanks for the challenging perspective.

[-] Feyd@programming.dev 1 points 1 week ago

It's really simple. The fact that you think this shirt will offend anybody, regardless of the demographic you're targeting, lends power to the narrative that a small penis is something to be ashamed of.

[-] CatsPajamas@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 1 week ago

I guess I don't understand. Why? Mocking the idea reinforces the idea necessarily?

[-] Feyd@programming.dev 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Yes. You're doing splash damage. I'll put it this way. Boys should be able to grow up without having anxiety over the size of their penis (because everybody should be able to grow up without having anxiety over things they didn't choose or have control over). When you put this shirt out into society, you can't control who will see or who interpret it.

Maybe people that think fox news is bullshit will understand that what you are disparaging is fox news and not small dicks and that you think that you'll offend fox news viewers only.

More likely, the average person will see that you think fox news is stupid but that is because having a small dick is something to be ashamed of in general, and some poor kid will see it and fret about how their body stacks up. Body shaming can't really be effectively targeted and should really just not be done at all.

[-] FartMaster69@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 week ago

It would work for literally nobody.

[-] Ilixtze@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 week ago

SHHHH! the femboys will hear you!

[-] Kolanaki@pawb.social 2 points 1 week ago

Unless you're a woman; in which case, it makes you grow one.

[-] psx_crab@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago

The word is ironically growing, with penis being the largest.

not insignificant portion of the population begins watching Fox News religiously

[-] shalafi@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Reminds me of two warring tribes/nations in Africa. Women came together and said, "None y'all getting laid until you make peace." Peace. Overnight.

[-] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 week ago

It's the other way around .... they watch Fox "News" because they already have a small penis

[-] CatsPajamas@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 1 week ago

Idk if I'm allowed to post a link

[-] TehBamski@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Self promotion hasn't been discussed on here yet, so no rule has been made, yet. I don't have a problem with someone sharing a link in the comment section. It's when people Spam Their Content, that I have the biggest problem with. Also, it looks bad when people put it in their title IMO. Store link or even online store name, I personally wouldn't want to allow.

But it's up to the community to decide.
