"Upon entry, the suspect immediately committed suicide with my gun by shooting himself twice in the head on the other side of the room, sir."

Even criminals get autopsy. Unless the cops are suddenly Universal Soldier and disarm the perp before using their own gun to shoot them point blank with no signs of struggle, theres no way that would fly under the radar.

Also, dangerous criminals can just be shot with no consequences in the first place, theres no need to lie.

I think the police would LOVE to take the credit for dropping a mass shooter, so I don't think they would say it was suicide if it wasn't. (I'm not talking about Epstein situations, just the mass shooters)

The mass shooters all have different reasons behind what they do, but I'm pretty sure that they know that there is no good ending for them. To be honest, if I had just ambushed and murdered a bunch of people, I would probably end myself too.

I think the police would LOVE to take the credit...

Are you sure? They didn't seem interested at all when that fuckface chose Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas as an ideal target for his rage.

They had all the opportunity in the world to make a name for themselves and let a bunch of kids die instead.

[Edit] No shade towards you of course. I'm just still pissed off about this. That much is clear in hindsight after posting this comment.

I'm with you completely. I said take the credit for it, not necessarily actually doing anything about it.

They probably do take credit for their "wonderful" handling of the situation.

They didn't have an easy shot on the guy, and were to afraid to go get one.

I mean, I would be too. But that's why I didn't sign up for a "serve and protect" job.
