This post in !letstalkaboutgames@feddit.uk reminded me that the Steam remake of one of the first ever PC games I played is completely free to play. Chuck Sommerville's simple but punishing puzzler was originally released on the Atari Lynx but most of us know the Windows 3.1 version. In this port he implemented both the original look and the Windows look if you want to go full nostalgia.

Best of all in the themes you can change it to the original look!

I did the Windows look initially for nostalgia, but the original look has animations which are cool. I also discovered that the steam page has a little video of Chuck himself explaining the reason why.
