With the loss to the Pacers today they put away the Bucks in 6. Not having Giannis proved too much for the rest of the Bucks to overcome.

Here's how their offseason is shaping up:

Cap Space

Cap Holds

Draft Picks 1st Round

2nd Round

Outlook

Injuries to Giannis and Dame at the end of the season put an end to the championship hopes the Bucks had when they signed Dame last offseason. The bucks never looked like they got things to click this year as they struggled to get the offense to maximize both Giannis and Dame. The defense has looked good in stretches but head scratching in others.

They're very limited on moves due to being near the 2nd apron and limited on tradable draft picks. Running it back with this roster may work out but a concern is that Middleton and Lopez will be another year older and while he's typically been healthy and able to push past injuries (especially in 2021) Giannis has now missed at least parts of the last 2 postseasons due to injury.

The hope is that the long offseason and a training camp together will give Doc and the Bucks time to figure thing out more and hopefully make a push next year with a healthy team.

Impressive write up. I think they'll be back and good again next year. The injuries overall really hampered them this year. Their biggest issue is probably depth.

Injuries obviously played a huge factor in the playoffs, but firing their coach mid-season while they had the 2nd best record in the East did not help this team compete for a top spot.

Yeah they probably should’ve let griffin at least complete the season and seen how it went but with the age of the roster they panicked.

I do think contrary to popular belief doc isn’t a horrible coach but he will likely be a hinderance against top coaches.

The deciding factor will be if he can at least setup the offense to maximize Dame/Giannis the talent can overcome his limitations but it remains to be seen if he can do that.
