The one downside to the writer's strike (that I've so far since there was a lot of content banked) is all the late night comedians' missed opportunities. Of course, I fully support the writers. I hope they get everything they are asking for so that we can get back to watching the amazing stuff they produce!

I don't know him and his relation with Reddit, I think I might need some context XD
He usually responds well to weird stuff like this and there's a chance he'll mention it on his show.
He's a comedian with a great show on HBO (or whatever it's called this week.) Look up some of the segments on YouTube.

It's funny for a day, but it'll be a graveyard in a week, I'm guessing.
I think this is the best possible response to being essentially forced to reopen.
Forcing mods back is one thing, but it's a lot harder to bring back users once they've found another chew toy to gnaw on.

This is epic. Trolling level 10. Spez wanted to force them to reopen, so they did, but burned the subreddit. I can't wait for r/gaming to be only about ping pong, or r/videos to be only cat videos.
You can not force a community. And Spez has unintentionally created a community, just one that hates him.
r/movies should only allow content about silent movies. None of these modern 'talkies'.
I support the writers strike of course. But sad we won't get a new episode of Last Week Tonight where John has to comment on how he's bringing the sexy back to /r/pics

What I love about this is that it's exactly the kind of thing he'd talk about on his show, which would be hilarious and also add more exposure the the whole thing.
